Vick Letter from Jail

This won't stop the "holier than thou" hypocrites from chucking stones at him, unfortunately. I can't believe he got two years for this BS.

Level of agreement 100%. Dogfighting is cruel, heck it's evil. Vick's punishment however is excessive and unreasonable.

more than not you make me laugh. i sure hope your holier than thou ass never does anything wrong because karma might just throw the book at you....

You really have no ****ing clue what you're talking about do you? My post had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Vick - it was a shot at h4r and joke. I would never claim to be holier than anybody, as you have to be religious to be holy and that ain't my cup of meat. ;)

I'm not buying it. He's sorry alright - sorry he got caught. First, he attempts to blame the dogfighting on his upbringing in Newport News. BS. How many people grww up in a rough environment, but didn't go on as adults to break federal laws? Then he attempts to blame the pot smoking on depression and his father. BS. How many depressed people turn to a bong hit to solve their problems?

He (and his lawyers) were stupid to send this type of letter to the judge.

I think its funny that when his name was first brought up he was kind of arrogant and ****y, "No matter what I do people are gonna support Mike Vick" and now that he is sitting in jail he is saying that he is humble and kind of shy.

Thats pretty much the opposite of shy. Chachie nailed it when he said anyone in his position would be sorry he did it. I hope that he gets his act together and becomes the good man that he is capable of being.

Prison Time is not going to make him a better person. Rarely does incarceration make people better. In fact, it makes people worse in certain cases. This is not to say that what Vick did is not eligible for incarceration. He definitely should be incarcerated. Afterall, that is the punishment by Law and he did in fact break the Law. He has admitted to this and accepted this.

I think the people that attached letters with Vicks are right though. He will be worth more on the outside than inside prison. Incarceration puts him in a place to offer nothing to society. Now he has to wait 23 months to offer anything back to the community.

I'm not defending Vick, but I can see sincerity in his letter. The things that he loves more than anything--his family, his career, his connection to his community--have been stripped from him. Unless any of us knows first hand what that feels like, we should not pass judgement on what's in his heart. If I did what Vick did, and then was in jail for a mere 30 days surrounded by other criminals who have NOTHING to offer society, there's no doubt in my mind that I'd feel incredibly terrible for my actions leading me there.

I feel that Vick was given a fair sentence. He could have received a sentence MUCH more severe than the 23 months he has. With that said, he did receive a justified sentence, primarily (IMO) due to his many contributions to the communitee. Whether he received 23 months or multiple years, he will still have the rest of his life to prove that he is a great contributor to the community. That much is certain.

Anyone read George Foreman's letter and start laughing uncontrollably?

"Former two-time Heavyweight Champion of the world, and known all over the world as the king of grills because of the George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine"

LOL

P.S I love the way he lists his life accomplishments right after his signature.

He grows up poor as hell, surrounded by trouble, with nothing but the ability to play the game of football. Then he gets there, the NFL and what does he surrund himself with? The same trouble and ends up doing the same stupid ****. What an *******. It's not like he was teaing it up and winning superbowls, he was barely a starter(the money kept him in the starting rle(not to mention the lack of somebody you know is better)) and he is out starting interstate gambiling rings, based around dog fighting.

What the hell did he ever do for you(besides play at the school you went to) that you can't see just how bad this clown ****ed up?
