Guest Spearfeather
If Rogers was healthy, who would you start at the other corner opposite Springs?
TheMalcolmConnection
Rogers. I think both Smoot and Rogers are on par coverage-wise, but Rogers is a FAR superior tackler.
CrypticVillain
If Rogers was healthy, who would you start at the other corner opposite Springs? Seriously? My man Los was a beast before he got injured. Yeah Smoot played his guts out literally. But for my money I will take my man Los.
Fan4life
Smoot has been amazing this season. He's a true leader and Redskins!
TheMalcolmConnection
Not to take anything away from Smoot, but Rogers really is a lot better overall.
DGreenistheBest
It's very tough to decide. I like Rogers because he is younger and looks to be getting better, but Smoot has definitely made an argument for being out there himself these past 2 games. Hard decision. dexter's manley
Rogers just isn't very good - our defense did not miss a beat after he went down. (Since ST has been gone, it's a different story, though). Rogers messed up more big plays and missed more big tackles than any other Redskin over the past 2 seasons. I hope he recovers and practices very hard this offseason. He needs it.
z0eboy
rogers would start if 100% he is more physical, smoot is more experienced in coverage but rogers isnt far behind. big plays? not missing a beat? did we dominate any games with out him? uh no i think rogers definately makes an impact, the defense isnt the same without him just like GW said we "had" 3 starting NFL CB's

I was the BIGGEST Rogers hater on the board until Week 2 when he was simply amazing versus the Eagles. He then continued that the rest of his season. Rogers was fantastic and is sorely, sorely missed. I love Smoot, but at this point Rogers's arrow is straight up and Smoot's is steady. Skins n' Bones
It would depend on the game, and the type of WR's they are going against. Before Rogers went down, Williams seemed to be rotating all 3 of them, and it worked well. Plus, with all the 3-WR sets that teams run these days, all 3 of them would be of the field a lot of the time anyway. But to answer the question literally, as much as I love Smoot, I'd have to go with Rogers. He really seemed to be improving over last season, plus he is younger and needs the playing time to establish himself as a very good corner in the league. Englands Team
I would take a healthy Rodgers as his youth and improvement is an upside. But seeing how this is hypothetical can I add a young Darrell Green. I would take him in the blink of an eye. An ultimate Redskin.
REEGSKINS
no doubt smooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot.
RDSKNfaithfull
Smoot brings a defensive swagger to the team. Carlos brings a unsure feeling for the record though I would start Smoot and Rogers start on the outside and have Springs old injured but in the nickle where he can blitz and do a lot of different things like Ronde Barber. z0eboy
Yes, but I'm sure he would have said the same thing had Smoot gone down.i like both players this only comes down to who you perfer hitting near the LOS in run support. Smoot has rogers in coverage but rogers is improving and till this day has more INTs this year
rlt2622
i still think rogers, smoot has missed some key interceptions, and caused some key penaltys.
ST is my boy
Smoots been great this year. But ill take Carlos. Maybe its off hype but.....hes been good at times.... and hes been just bad at times. But I still believe he was the thorpe winner and top 10 pick overall for a reason. I may eat these words in a year or so though...

I agree ill take Carlos.......but to say because of missed key interceptions and key penaltys as the reason you will take him over smoot......ughhhhhhhhhhhh have you seen Carlos play???????
S.T.real,lights,out
I'd sit Springs and start Smoot and Rogers.
Dick Edds
well next year it will most likely be Rogers and Smoot ... I only hope that Rogers injury happened early enough in this year that he has plenty of time to recover. though he may never be the same. Didn't he tear his mcl and acl? Wow, sounds like he could never be the same type of player if so. That's a shame because he really improved a lot this year. Glad we picked up Smoot. LD0506
It's pretty bad that 'Los had to get hurt to get any kind of love on this board. The kid has played well this season and wasn't getting the credit he deserved until he got his leg ghanked. Go figure
InsaneBoost
Rogers, Smoot hasn't really proven much to me yet, I mean till the end, he was getting picked apart against Miami.
rhyno
I choose c) start smoot and rogers and have springs cover in the slot. Seemed to work like a charm at the beginning of the year. You can disguise coverages and move springs all over the place.
Jahbird
smoot plays with double or triple the heart of LOS. Before smoot left in 05' he was playing with a hurt shoulder yet he still was out there clotheslining people. Carlos, for his draft position, has been a let down. At times he seems lost on the field and he cant catch or tackle as well as he should be able to given that he is a top ten pick.
AFskinsfan
I for one have always been a huge Smoot fan. I love the sound of 90K fans screaming his name! CR on the other hand really showed significant improvement this year so its kind of hard to pick which one. Like someone said earlier, Smoot brings a swager the Defense. You can see the difference between the D of last year and the D of this year in that regard. However next year I hope we can rework Springs' contract and move him to safety and then have CR as #1 corner Smoot as #2 and hopefully a good rookie as the # 3. Someone we can grow to take over for Smoot in the future.
