kobra860
One thing that I've noticed is that in the DC/MD/VA area, out of all the division rivals, there are more Cowboys fans that you'll encounter on a regular basis than any other fan. Is there a reason for that? (i.e. Bad childhood, mental instability) lol
ozskin
It might have something to do with nobody telling their Mothers about the hazards of smoking and drinking during pregnancy?
mcarey032
I am sorry but I don't understand why Cowboys fans go to Redskins games when the Cowboys are not playing. I mean they really need a beat down

Spec138
...unless the Cowboys were playing. Haha of course, though I wouldn't want to be around after we beat 'em I was thinking about it, and I'm doing exactly what I was talking about fans going to the stadium. I'm surrounded by them here.. haha.
Danny White
I am sorry but I don't understand why Cowboys fans go to Redskins games when the Cowboys are not playing. I mean they really need a beat down Some people just really like watching football. I'm a Cowboys fan, and would never miss watching a Cowboys game on TV to go to a Skins game... But I like football too much to pass up on an opportunity to watch a good game in person when it doesn't conflict with watching my Cowboys. I've gone to many primetime Skins games in the past and really had a good time. My second favorite team is whoever is playing the Skins, so I always have a rooting interest in the game. That said, I try to be respectful and not antagonize the Skins fans there. I suspect if you lived in Dallas and had a chance to go to Texas stadium and root against the Cowboys, you'd take the opportunity to stick it to your arch-rival. Heck, I was at the Jets/Cowboys game on Thanksgiving and I saw about 3 or 4 guys in Redskin jerseys in the stands (pretty much outnumbered the Jets fans there  )
Jumbo
That's exactly how I see the deal DW--well said. Well, obviously switching the whole Redskins Cowboy thing  I added that to pre-empt some wiseass using my comment to play with

But that kinda goes without saying. And honestly, while I don't have a beef with a guy who wears a Riggins or Portis jersey to a Cowboys/Jets game, I don't really see the point in it either. For years, I've gone to the Skins/Eagles game here with a buddy of mine who's an Eagles fan, and I'd wear some token Cowboys gear... but I realized it was only serving to antagonize EVERYONE and I stopped doing it to avoid being a douche (and to keep my face intact!). One year I wore a Frerotte jersey that I had left over from a Halloween costume as my own private inside joke... but a Skins fan bought it from me in the parking lot for $40. Couldn't say no to that! (True story!)

Skins fans have always been very decent. And based on my experience this year going to the Cowboys/Redskins game in Dallas, we were very nice to them as well. I think, for the most part, it's a heated but respectful rivalry.

Couldn't say no to that! (True story!) Smart move to unload that jersey. I have say about wearing the opposing team's jersey at the game that I am not opposed to that, but when your team is not playing? It really doesn't make any sense and you are right all it does is serves to enrage all of us redskins fans. I know that there is always some token cowboys clown at the game who wants to try and mix it up. I can say this, fans who pull this trick are lucky that they aren't in Philly because you know walking out of the stadium is going to be on an ambulance. RedskinInExile
I think a lot of people join their home team's rival's fanbase just to be rebellious, or piss their parents off, or whatever At least, that's how Matthew McConehee (I have idea how to spell his name) explains how he became a Redskin fan growing up in Texas

I suspect if you lived in Dallas and had a chance to go to Texas stadium and root against the Cowboys, you'd take the opportunity to stick it to your arch-rival. ) That is it in a nutshell, Cowboys fan's love to see the skins lose. Why? because of the rivarly, they know the skins can whoop they're arse on any given Sunday and it bothers them  . Look! I couldn't understand it either, why Cowboys fans want to always see the skins play. I live in Houston , Texas, another city that's full of bandwagon Cowboy fans, but didn't grow up in Dallas. Anyhow, here at one of the major sports bars that show every NFL game, the Cowboys fans are always in Redskin section when we play, it's pretty darn pathetic, seriously. I even went to see the Skins play Chicago at the bar this last game on Thursday hoping skins fans would be there, Not. But sure enough there they we're on Thursday (cowboy fans) wanting to see the skins game, incredible  . And DW, as far as living in Dallas and wanting to see a Dallas game when they're not playing the skins would not happen, probably ever. And I'm quite sure most skins fans would agree with this. Not only skins fans, but any NFC East team outside of Dallas fans , seriously.
HeHateMe
There are Dallas fans everywhere. I was just in Detroit for the Dallas/Lions game and you wouldnt have known who the home team was during some points of the game. Seriously.
tr1
There are Dallas fans everywhere. That's true. They're casual NFL fans who liked to root for the 1990's pukes who won a lot. They tend to have two or three favorite teams. But, most of them couldn't tell you who starts at right offensive tackle or who Ken Hamlin is. Casual, bandwagon fans...
pjfootballer
That would never happen to me, because I'd quit my job if I ever had to live in Texass or anywhere near Dallass. No offense to the state or the folks living there, but I couldn't take the constant Cowboys crap. Bad enough I had to put up with the Dolphins and now the Panthers. Not to mention, is actually boring in Dallas. I do like Houston more, if I ever had to live in Texass. I wonder what will happen if Dallass lost their first playoff game again, will the fans here be put on suicide watch or all of the Puke flags will not be seen. That will be a funny Monday morning.
