Dance04 Posted November 27, 2007 Share Posted November 27, 2007 I was on my way to work when i heard the news on the radio. I couldn't beleive it. I just refused to. So, first thing I did when i got to work was open up extremeskins. I was even more shocked. Here it was, during the middle of the day, and we had over 2,000 people logged in. Right then and there I was amazed. Here it is, the middle of the afternoon, and people are stopping what they are doing to check on the condition of Sean. I have not seen this many people online after a game, ever. This truly is the best fanbase in the world. As often as we conflict about the direction of our team, over gibbs, our players, anything, everyone stopped and has united together to pray for one of our own. I never met ST, nor will i probably ever. I'm sure the same can be said for most of us. But this just goes to show the impact this team and these players have on us. pat yourselves on the back skins fans, you have shown to me and everyone else that we made the right choice in choosing this team. I think each and everyone one of you are awesome, and classy people when it comes down to it. Sean, I just read you are responsive. Thank god. I wish only the best for you. You are a warrior on the field and no doubt you are one off the field as well. You will get through this. Myself and everyone else here believes that as well. I think all of us here feel the same way VK. Every sunday, this man, along with the other 52 go out and "play their gut outs". They affect our lives in ways they couldn't even fathom. the proof is all around us on this board today. HAIL!!Where did you get the news on him being responsive? After hearing the news of my favorite player being shot my first family didn't understand why I was so upset over someone I never met. I come here and everyone is feeling and saying things that I feel. So thanks to all of you who have made it alittle easier for me today. Sean we love you and you are in our prayers. I also like the way the entire NFL community pulls together... Just goes to show that we can hate our rivals as much as they hate us within the context of playing games, etc...but most people recognize that the Gladiators inside the masks are human beings with families, and lives. boysetsfire Posted November 27, 2007 Share Posted November 27, 2007 It's crazy. I mean here we were, a good chunk of us, upset like crazy over the Redskins 3rd straight loss yesterday. So many threads of displeasure with the qb, coaches, management, etc. But now here we are united again over a fallen player, teammate, son, father. This team needs our support now more than ever. Not neccesarily to win a football game but to show that despite what has happened there are FAR greater things than a game. I really hope and wish that come this Sunday FedEx field is packed to capacity with all of us there to root this team on and Sean. We all love and hope you a speedy recovery Sean. Personally you are by far my favorite player and it kills me to know that you might now play ever again. I'm not worried about that though. I just hope you can be there for your little daughter. Sure we get mad and argue with each other but one of our own is down and we rally for a member of our family. I could care less about another down of football this year, I just want Sean to recover and be able to live a happy and long life with his girlfriend, daughter and family. When all is said and done we will be there for our brothers who wear the burgundy and gold! I do FEEL he is my friend and brother even though as someone else has said I have NEVER met and probably never will. But somehow his pain is mine. I have prayed and thought of him and his family all day. And as others have said just to get well and have a great life not for any selfish purposes. Though he is one of the greatest football players I have ever watched grow and I know he loves the sport also. I do pray that he can play again because I don't think his life or ours will be the same without him in a Redskins Uniform. I am going to the game on sunday and I dont own a Sean Taylor jersey but I am going to buy one before the game (if I can find one) to honor him. This is a tough moment, but fighters know how to fight!! #21 will continue to fight! The Skins fanbase has always been #1 in my eyes. It's amazing how the fans are coming together tonight here on this site and in other places. I was just saying to my brother how this site is absolutey jammed tonight!
