The Injury Threshold

Every NFL team has a boundry. A line in the sand, if you will, where the amount injuries become so impactful that even the best teams are unable to overcome. My friends, we have reached that threshold. This is not an excuse thread. It's just a simple statement of reality. Nothing more.

We're on our 3rd string RT, our 2nd string RG, our 2nd string FS, our 2nd string CB, our second string FB, etc, etc, etc. There's just too many players, key players, missing from this team right now.

Before you go ripping our front office, stop yourself. Pick any team in the NFL other than The Patriots. Remove the starters from those teams that we are missing, and every one of those teams would not be able to overcome those losses.

None of this changes the fact that today's game against The Bucs was a MUST WIN. Injuries don't account for 4 first half fumbles either. You can't dig a hole like that with the injuries we have and dig out of it. We have to win to continue to salvage this season. However, any wins will be a miracle when you consider the injuries. The odds are REALLY stacked against us.

THIS is why there is something called a draft

What I'm saying is that it doesn't matter. No matter how "DEEP" you think your team is, there is a limit to the number of injuries you can absorb. We're just over that limit. Plain & Simple.

Take the deepest, best drafting team in NFL history and saddle them with number of injuries we have. They will struggle week to week and certainly lose many games they should win.

Remove Rodney Harrison & Asante Samuel. Give Randy Moss a debilitating Heel Injury. Break Wes Welker's Collar Bone and and Donte Stallworth's Hamstring. Get rid of Stephen Neal (Right Guard) and Nick Kaczur (Right Tackle). Then have Ryan O'Callahan get injured (Back-Up Right Tackle). Take away Mike Vrabel for 4 games and then lose Heath Evans (FB)........ Do all of that and even the mighty Patriots would struggle to win every week.

Lets not stop there. Take away Roy Williams and Terence Newman. Let Terrell Owens hobble around with a Heel Injury. Break San Hurd's Collar Bone and give Patrick Crayton a bad Hammy. Get rid of Leonard Davis & Marco Colombo. Remove Demarcus Ware for 4 weeks........

How tough do the Cowboys look now??

Thye Colts are held as one of the model franchises in the NFL. They have almost as many injuries as we do (but not as many) and they are struggling big time.

Do all the injuries excuse 4 fumbles?? HELL NO! But, you can't turn a blind eye to the injuries when evaluating this team.

I completely agree... but maybe Portis wouldnt have fumbled if he had a better offensive line to make some better holes. On that 2nd fumble he got smashed all around. On top of that, its like one injury can easily lead to other injuries because of having backups in
