Is 10-6 that far of a reach?

Right now, we're 4-2, with a 10 games left to play. On our remaining schedule, I think we've got five games that I think we can and should win. Those are as follows:

Jets (away) 1-6

Eagles (home) 2-4

Bears (home) 3-4

Buffalo (home) 2-4

Vikings (away) 2-4

That's a combined record of 10-22, which translates to a composite 2-4 record for each of those teams at the present time. We win those five games, that gives us nine wins.

We also play the Bucs on the road. They are 4-3, but I think they're beatable too. If we can pick that up, that's our 10 games.

And that's without taking into account the two we have with the Cowboys, the remaining grudge match we've got with the Giants, and the Pats game (which I don't expect to win).

So, 10 wins isn't a stretch by any imagination AT THIS TIME. Of course, things can change quickly, not the least of which is the injury issues we're saddled with. But if we can stay healthy, and if we can get Randy Thomas back for the stretch run, this might get really interesting by the end of the season.

Right now even if you concede defeat to the Pats and put us at 4-3, going 6-3 the rest of the way is certainly doable. But it has to start with beating both the Jets on the road and the Eagles here. I thought both would be a lot better than they are proving to be this year. If we don't go 2-0 against these two, I still think we're wildcard contenders, but I'd be very down on our chances for a div title.

Our next 3 games are against NFCE opponents(2 being on the road)-to be honest, I'm happy now, but NOT THAT comfortable with our short-term future outlook.

Come back in mid-Nov b/c the NFCE race will be *tight*-bank on it.
