NoCalMike
I am only asking because I have a friend that lives in Houston and usually after the Skins game we talk about it(he is a Skins fan too) and he was angry because he said Woodson was clearly down by contact when he recovered the fumble and he felt the officials had a clear view and on top of that, the coaches should have challenged because it was so obvious. Anyone have the game taped, that can go back and look at it? That play happened so fast and I was so IRATE at the fumble itself, that once Woodson took off running I was not in a clear enough state of mind to even watch the replay to see if he was down by contact.... Smurf85
I'm pretty sure he never even touched the ground.
Henry
I was looking for down by contact, but I didn't see any. Sorry.
AKM311
I don't think he was. But cannot say 100% that he wasn't. I remember looking for it and saw it was clean.
Touchdown Redskins
Hmmm me and about four other Skins fans were all watching at the same time, and none of us saw anything like that. Now granted, we were all pretty inebriated at the time, so maybe your friend has a point. But for all five of us to miss something like that, it would have had to been something microscopic. RODAN1054
I'm pretty sure he never even touched the ground. Im surprised it wasnt challenged, it looked like he was down to me also
wshngtn1
It was close....I wanted them to look at it too. I think Santana's leg or arm may have touch Woodson's leg or arm..can't remember...but I hope someone in the Redskins booth gave it a second look and decided not to throw the red flag. RenegadeTK
it looked close, but there was no way it was gonna be overturned, im pretty sure the coaching staff realized that
Skinned
I didn't think he was. i was looking for it in the replays that were shown. It did look like Santana could have reached out about 6 inches and just touched his foot but he didn't.
jrfriedm
I wouldn't be surprised if he was. There was an obvious face mask right in front of a ref, but there was no flag.
Hokieskins1
i was thinking this and then looking at the replay i saw that when he was diving for the ball he was touched by a redskin, but when he got possession of the ball he was not touched. CoachingWinsChampionships
Nope man. I looked for that hoping we had a chance at a challenge but it was very clearly obvious he was never touched while he had possession of the ball.
knowledge316
i thought woodson's feet was touching moss as he was on the ground getting the ball, which means he's down by contact...gibbs should have challenged the play
theTruthTeller
i was thinking this and then looking at the replay i saw that when he was diving for the ball he was touched by a redskin, but when he got possession of the ball he was not touched. I think this is correct. One angle looked like his foot might still be touching Moss when he grabbed the ball, but another angle made it pretty clear that by the time he got to the ball, there was no contact. Of course, if there was any doubt, Gibbs should have challenged, because this play was a game changer.
Heidenreich
He wasn't. I watched that replay like a hawk right when it happened. I don't even think it was close.......
sens11
I wish he were down by contact. It wasn't even close. Sorry
llcamino
I raised this question in a post yesterday, and then had a chance to look at it today. I forwarded directly to that play to look at that, and unfortunately he was NOT touched once he gained control. However, it did look like Al Harris pushed Campbell in the back on the return...not significantly, but still it could have been called.
bubba9497
I was looking for down by contact, but I didn't see any. Sorry. I watched it several times, he was never touched after he recovered the ball though I think Portis was down by contact on his fumble
REDSKYNYRD
I didn't see any contact either but that point is moot now, 3-2.

Taylorfan2179
I got the clip from itunes, there is a moment where it looks like woodson touched moss after he had the ball, but someones leg goes in fron of the camera where you would see the contact. mcarey032
Nobody got a hand on him and nobody from our team told the coaches to throw the flag because they thought that they tagged him by down by contact. I saw it pretty clearly and I would say that I was hoping and praying that either santana or he was down by contact, it was clearly not the case.
