CallMeGreen
case closed. DG is in. if canton dix us again on DG i will personally go there and burn the building to the ground.no Hogs? no Monk? are they f'n serious? the whole subject pisses me off. i am telling the NFL HOF right now, you screw DG over and I AM BURNING YOUR BIG ASS JUICER TO CINDERS. I know Honorary_Hog suggested you edit this to tone it down, but your original quote will now live in my sig. Thanks. And, agreeing with some of the others, he should be a lock on the first ballot, but one can never tell.

radagast5
While this post is 100% logical, and a case-closed argument for what should be a first ballot induction for Green; I think we all need to come to grips with the fact that ole D.G. won't be getting in this year, and I have a feeling that he won't be getting in for many more years to come. Oh how I long to look like an idiot for saying this, but I just see him getting screwed. I'm happy to tell you that you're 100% wrong. There is no way at all Green doesn't get in this year. *Every* single argument that is held against Monk does not apply to Green. And if Monk is this close to getting in, Green is a mortal lock. Here are the typical anti-Monk comments, and how Darrell doesn't apply: ---No signature play: Punt return vs. Bears in playoffs ---Not a big-play guy: Dorsett/Dickinson/Rice rundowns; 12 TDs scored on various returns, including 3 in the playoffs ---Not the best WR on his team: Green was obviously a CB and equally obviously the best on his team ---Not enough Pro Bowls: Green went to seven, the last when he was age 37 in his 14th year ---No impact on gameplanning: Opponents always gameplanned for Darrell; Parcells and Simms both have famous quotes about this Other pluses: played on 3 Super Bowl teams; was NFL Man of the Year in 1996; played for one team for 20 years (NFL record); holds NFL record for most years with an INT. Darrell Green is an absolute mortal lock to make the Hall of Fame.

DGreenistheBest
Now that the season is over, it's time to look forward to the HOF induction only a short month away. Since there are already some Monk threads, I took it upon myself to start a Green thread a few months ago. Now that time is short, I thought I would revive the thread by sharing Darrell Green's College Football Hall of Fame induction page: http://www.collegefootball.org/famersearch.php?id=90037
