rdsknbill
You can't give every one of your playmakers huge as contracts every year...there's a thing called a salary cap. Look at who we signed last year:Arch, Lloyd, ARE, Carter, and Betts (towards the end) This year: Fletcher, Cooley, Smoot, Landry Trust me, next year or the year thereafter, ST will get his money. Sellars also got extended last year. He's signed through 2010
Oldskool
Ive said this for the last year, Taylor's negotiations will begin this offseason. Both sides were waiting to see what kind of money Polamalu received and would start from there.
SoCalSkins
you are completely wrong. he has two options: play the contract he signed, or sit out and not play football. holding out is a recourse to a union strike. the difference however, is that when you hold out, you are going on strike for something that you already bargained for and now are unhappy about.i completely understand the issues involved in contract negotiations and sports law; what is hillarious is that you think it is simply his right to hold out. I am not wrong. He can choose not to play football. He can retire if he is not happy with the deal. He has a right to do so.The Redskins probably would not be happy with that outcome. SoCalSkins
Captain non sequitur strikes again. :obvious: Not quite. You seem to base most of your prediction on what former SC players are doing in the NFL. The Redskins can't negotiate with ST because they both have to wait to see what Palumalo is doing before they can even begin to negotiate? BTW, maybe SC can hire Harbaugh when Carroll leaves for the Chargers job.
Nuwanda
he will become the highest paid safety once the season ends / in the offseason
ucfSKINS
Yeah he is amazing. Besides his play he gives the Skins an intimidation factor, there is a reason teams always drop balls against us, just knowing he is out there somewhere helps. There isn't a chance we don't resign him is there? A friend of mine who is a Dallas fan is predicting that we won't resign him and they will pick him up. No chance right?? your friend is an idiot and a pukes fan. No chance we'll EVER let him go to anyone in the NFC East. Period.
TheGift
I agree, they better give him whatever he wants.
AceSkinsFan
We were all worried about Cooley getting paid, and then he did. I think the same is going to happen here. Look at the guys we let leave in FA recently, like Dockery and Pierce. The jury may still be out on Dockery, but Pierce hasn't really panned out for the Giants in the long run. When we REALLY see something in a player, we keep him. Plus GW has been saying that ST is his favorite player that he's ever coached. We will NOT let ST go, or even let it get close to that. Have faith...HTTR!
Cringer Eats You
Taylor = Highest paid safety in the league next year!!!
phishisthegreatstuff
if we let him test FA that would be one of the dumbest moves ever. I don't think he wants to leave DC anyways, but why risk it.
HitStickTaylor21
PS: Didn't we extend Sellers in the offseason this year? I can't remember. Yes we did. I want Taylor signed ASAP, we can say all we want about what we think but an extensions isn't done until it's signed. I'm waiting for that day to exhale. mistertim
I think if Snyder even considered not paying ST what he deserves GW would go ballistic. GW thinks the world of ST and would definitely go to bat for him.
