Titaw
As we all wake up today everything feels a bit different. The sun is a bit brighter, the air is crisp and the birds seem to have changed their tune. You know it's coming and you can't help but to stand on your front porch in your pj's and smile. You get the chills realizing that this year may be special. You hear what the pundits say but you have seen with your own two eyes these are NOT the 2006 Washington Redskins. Oh no, these boys look like they are ready. The anticipation has you almost giving a quasi audible "YES!" and a slight fist pump. Who says that Christmas only comes once a year. For Redskins fans that is completely and utterly unture. We know that the most wonderful time of the year comes in seven days and the anticipation has you feeling like a kid again. You want that day to come so bad. You try to keep your mind off of it by staying busy doing things around the house, only to inevitably end up humming that delightful song. It's my favorite carol of them all, "Hail, to the Redskins! Hail, Victory............"

Heidenreich
Our long wait is over. Only 4 days until a real football game is on TV, and this time next weekend we'll be tailgating for the Redskins opener. It's good to be back......
dcsmooth
My wife has said to me a couple of times already..."when football season starts I know my place." She believes that I put football ahead of her. I asked her a question: how many times a week does professional football comes on? It's only when I look at football she seems to want more of my attention. She even attend games with me, twice a year. sigh... HTTR! Seven more days and counting down! Four more days until the season starts!

That seemed to fix her needy ways for a few hours anyways.

LiveStrongSkins
I hope not. Thursday will be a nice break in the tension, as I'm looking forward to the Saints/Colts game. Usually the week leading up to opening day sucks... because of the anticipation. The good thing about this week is there is a college football primetime game on Monday night then the Saints game thursday night. Also, there are some big games slated for Saturday in college football. It's going to be a fun week. Not the usual comcast/espn surfing just waiting for something redskins. PCS
For the Redskins. I don't know what to say really. 7 daysto the biggest battle of our professional lives all comes down to Next Sunday. Either we heal as a team or we are going to crumble. Inch by inch play by play till we're finished. We are in hell right now, gentlemen believe me and we can stay here and get the **** kicked out of us or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch, at a time. Now I can't do it for you. I'm too old. I look around and I see these young faces and I think I mean I made every wrong choice a middle age man could make. I uh.... I pissed away all my money believe it or not. I chased off anyone who has ever loved me. And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know when you get old in life things get taken from you. That's, that's part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out that life is just a game of inches. So is football. Because in either game life or football the margin for error is so small. I mean one half step too late or to early you don't quite make it. One half second too slow or too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They are in ever break of the game every minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inch On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch. Cause we know when we add up all those inches that's going to make the ****ing difference between WINNING and LOSING between LIVING and DYING. I'll tell you this in any fight it is the guy who is willing to die who is going to win that inch. And I know if I am going to have any life anymore it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch because that is what LIVING is. The six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You gotta look at the guy next to you. Look into his eyes. Now I think you are going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. You are going to see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team because he knows when it comes down to it, you are gonna do the same thing for him. That's a team, gentlemen and either we heal now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys. That's all it is. Now, whattaya gonna do? CandaceM23
I thought about this when I woke up this morning. At this time next week, I shall be in the parking lots of FedEx field, probably under the influence of quite a few beers, wearing my Skins gear and getting ready to make my way to the stadium. Thank goodness it's football season.
