BleedBNG
I don't think Gibbs' statements rule out a trade. All he's saying is that he expects him to be on the roster, which means he won't be cut. It doesn't mean that there won't be a trade at some point.Really, there isn't a good reason right now to cut Brunell. Jason True. I think the Skins are waiting for some kind of trade value. Teams like the Seahawks, and now the Jags, are probably waiting for him to be cut. Gibbs sent the message... "NO." So I would guess if those (or other) teams are interested, they better start thinking of what they are willing to give up. We can wait until Oct. 19 (player trade deadline). SkinsGuy
Wynn is a surprise to me. I guess they really are trying to get younger along the defensive line.
Drex
Wynn's release opens up an opportunity for our youth to shine. However, it should be interesting to see how the team handles this from a chemistry perspective.
jnhay
Is everyone underrating this defensive line? Two veterans have been released, so they must have a lot of confidence in our young guys.
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
Wynn is a surprise to me.I guess they really are trying to get younger along the defensive line. its about time. this means we might actually be in rebuilding mode for the long haul. quite exciting. redskns21
Sad to hear about Wynn, not so much because of his play but more because of his locker room presence. Losing him and Big Joe is a tough break and it would have been nice to have these guys on the team to give the young guys some guidance.
illone
Get ready for Chris Wilson to tear it up this season.
spanishomelette
its about time. this means we might actually be in rebuilding mode for the long haul. quite exciting. I hate to see him go, but I agree it is exciting, and had to be done eventually. I haven't seen Hickman's or Alexander's name on a blog yet. Wonder if they're in with Wilson? Zen-like Todd
I've been calling the Renaldo Wynn cut all summer long. I should get some "Smug ES Poster Prediction" award for that one.

Zen-like Todd
This is a big shock. Why? He barely played all throughout training camp. When did you hear his name called at ALL this summer? I thought this was a super obvious upcoming cut.
Tarhog
Best of luck Mr. Wynn. Thanks for the last 5 years. Redskins fans will remember you fondly
Teller
I'm happy that this means Chris Wilson is likely a Skin. I REALLY think that kid has BIG potential. And though I understand from a football standpoint, I'll miss Renaldo. He gave us every once of everything he had, and always carried himself with dignity and class. All the best going forward, 97. TheLongshot
Wynn getting released is a surprise. I wonder if another DE made the team other than Wilson. I can't see them going with just Evans as a backup as a true DE. Jason
SkinsFanInTennessee
Is it just me, or does this year seem different as far as roster moves, (free agent signings, releases, etc). Does it seem that its a more a "football is a business" attitude this year? Maybe its just me, but I am liking it. With Gibbs, its always seemed that if you are a seasoned vet, and been here for a couple of years you can stay. This year, just seems to be different. I like what I am seeing. I hate to see big Joe and Wynn go, but I think down the road, for the future, its moves like this, that will help develop some young talent for us. Something that we havent seen around here in a long time.
Zen-like Todd
I'd like to point out that despite the fact I've been calling for the cut all summer, I've always liked Renaldo, and considered him a true Redskin. Good luck in your future endeavors Renaldo.
JimmiJo
Best of luck Mr. Wynn. Thanks for the last 5 years. Redskins fans will remember you fondly Wynn was probably THE most class guy on the team. Even the way he stopped to answer questions just now after being released showed the type of guy he is. After his comments, he shook each of our hands.
stoney26
Wynn was a good locker room guy but besides that he didnt produce anything on the field.
