ESPN News: ESPN Radio Primetime (Parcells and Keyshawn Redskins Comments)

Mort just hosted a radio portion on ESPN asking Parcells and Keyshawn to give their take on the league. They started in the NFC East: (thank Tivo for the direct quotes)

Parcells:

"Well, to me, Chris and Key, the NFC East is a 3-team race. I don't think Washington defensively or the uncertainty at QB with Campbell... I just don't think they'll be able to compete with these other teams. I think they'll win games, I think they'll keep games close, but they gave up an awful lot of points last year and I don't see their defense being that improved based on their off-season acquisitions or their draft. So I think they'll be in the four spot."

Keyshawn:

"The Redskins, on the other hand, I think they are still trying to figure out how to play football. You have an owner there who can't stay out the mix, continuing to get involved. And I think that Joe Gibbs at this point and time, probably just wants to get this football season over with. Young quarterback, they don't want Brunell around, they don't want him to be the starter, bunch of young wide receivers that are small, not young, but smallish wide receivers. Their secondary and their defense isn't that great, they have a defensive coordinator that can get the job done. But they don't have the personnel that he needs and the players and the talent around him to be that defense that it was a long time ago in Buffalo or even a couple years ago in Washington."

BULLSH-T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ****S!!!!!!!!!!

Parcells does make sense. We will compete, win games, and keep games close. I disagree with him re. the Defense though. I think we're set there. But we do have uncertainties on Offense.

Keyshaun...WTF does Snyder have to do with our regular season? He hasn't meddled in regular season affairs since 03 when he hired consultants for Spurrier...

Someone needs to insert the photo of MeeShawn pushing the camera man out of his face after the 35-7 ass whipping they got in D.C. In the same post put a picture of Parcells standing below the scoreboard at the end. This is what happens when ESPN Dallas is part of the national media. That station has gone to hell now and they didn't have far to go anyway. Sickening just sickening. :puke:

And the NFLN is following suite. All Dullass. I thought the comment by "mary kaye"-shawn about Gibbs wanting the season to already be overwith was a riot.  It hasn;t started and I've missed it, has it?

Parcells clearly has given up on being involved in this sport. The few times I've seen him at his new post, he has not shown that his knowledge of the state of things is current. Any opinion he has voiced seems to be a carry over from last season. My guess is once he left the Cowboys, his heart no longer was in football.

This is disappointing to me. As much as I've loathed Parcells for his affiliations, his presence in the game will be sorely missed. The satisfaction 'Skins fans received from seeing that look of disappointment on his face after a loss, is irreplacable.

The 'Skins appear to be a real sleeper in the league right now. Hopefully, opinions like Keyshawn's and Tuna's permeate the locker rooms of the NFC East...:2cents:

Agree

Measure your Success by the Opposition you have to overcome

Like it or not, Parcells was a good/great coach

Maybe he lost it doing all that work and then watching playoffs

"Slip through Romos fingers"?

Sounds like Keyshawn is still bitter that once he hit the open market, nobody wanted him. He found out that the league sees him as washed up and not worth they money anymore.

Parcells, well let's face it, the guy got run out of Dallas by TO. Instead of manning up, Parcells packed up and left town just like he's done to every other team in his career.

No credibility from either one as far as I'm concerned...

the funniest thing was watching Keychain talking during the draft about helping the Panthers develop a young receiver taken in the middle rounds, only to have the team cut him a few weeks later before camp even started

he talked about what a great mentor and influence he would be and how he would show him the ropes...................

meanwhile the team only wanted to show HIM the door!

Parcells is upset that the Redskins beat Dallas 3 of the last 4 meetings, costing him a playoff berth in 2005 and a division title in 2006 :)

The game at Fedex in 2005 was a whooping and Parcells looked like a girl without a date to the prom on prom night. Final was 35-7.

The game last year was more fun. The Redskins were stinking up the joint and heading nowhere and the Cowboys couldn't even execute a field goal attempt at the end to win the game

I guess that carried over into the playoffs :D
