mitchie
The past preseasons he has been horrible. He simply had a good preseason. This is stupid. They are trading Brunnell b/c they can actually get something for him. No one would want TC. This is a horrible idea.

VuV
I agree with you 100%. Brunnell is much better than Collins. I don't think I have ever given two sh1ts who are third QB is...but Palmer makes me REAL uncomfortable back there. He looked HORRIBLE tonight. NAILBOMB9
Who care who we get and don't get. Who we trade and don't trade. The team has done nothing but under-achieve for years and they have had some darn good talent. I don't see how ANY moves we make will matter until the FO and Coaching improve. SkinsFan48
This is not a horrible idea. MB just dont have it anymore. I mean cmon, he can't even throw past 10 yards anymore. TC is not that much better but atleast he is not scared to throw the ball. Oh and did I mention what were paying MB. It makes plenty of sense too me. The past preseasons he has been horrible. taylorcoreskin
Dude, why did you make three threads stating that you think Brunell is better than Collins? And by the way, Collins knows the offense BETTER than Brunell, and gives the team a BETTER chance to win than Brunell. Brunell cares more about not throwing an INT than converting a third down. He'll never go for it, because he doesn't have faith in his own ability. And if he doesn't think himself accurate enough to convert a third down because no receivers are WIDE OPEN, why should us fans think that he's accurate enough to fit the ball in a tight window with the game on the line? Atleast Collins doesn't need someone to be wide open in order to complete a pass.

With the UL part, was the TD pass he made today wide open?

With the corner not looking at the QB, it might as well have been. Just wait til Brunell goes against a zone defense (i.e. Cover 2) and watch him throw it out of bounds or to the checkdown because his receivers don't have 10 yards of seperation. Idaho fan
Scott Brunell is a better QB - I agree. BUT, does it really matter? If JC goes down the season is over regardless of who is backing up IMO.

I agree, but Collins is just as bad as Brunell. Have you seen Collins throw a pass farther than 20 yards? its the slowest **** ive ever seen. If he needs to thread a ball in there, he wont get it done either.
mcarey032
To me it just doesn't make sense for them to trade someone who is dependable in the backup role. Brunell could get us through a strech if something were to happen campbell. I think that is fine, but it wouldn't make sense for us to have Palmer out there right now given that his experience has been extremely limited. Peregrine
Collins hasnt been horrible his entire career? Where do you get your facts? Up your.... you know...? Collins hasnt been on the field much in his career, but obviously he knows Saunders system, and not only has played well in preseason, hes dont it against very good defenses. Guess what, preseason football when the starters are in is also football.
Idaho fan
I am sorry i have to ask... SCOTT? LOL. A year or two ago during a game one of the commentators kept calling Mark "Scott Brunell" It was really funny since you would think that a professional commentator would know the name of the starting QB. Anyway, many people around here including me still refer to Mark as Scott in a lame attempt to be funny.

jtyler42
It's definately a fact that Brunell is the more accomplished QB between he and Collins over their careers...BUT.... How many more times is Brunell going to have to come into a game (regular season not preseason) and have that "deer caught in the headlights look" when a team blitzes him or runs a Cover2 zone against him and he either just falls to the ground, throws the ball out of bounds, or in the dirt; before people realize he doesn't have it anymore? It's time for him and the team to part ways...I am grateful for what he has done against the Cowturds in his 3yrs here and how he helped us get back to the paloffs in 05' but Collins is the more viable backup at this point and it's obvious that Coach Gibbs and the team feel that way as well...
