pjfootballer will probably fall over dead when he reads this but...

GOOD FOR JOE!! I am so glad that he said that because after watching how the colts fans treat their team I was totally thinking that we need to do the same thing. It does my heart good to see Joe step up for us and push us.

JOE T. is smoking crack, we pay rediculous amounts of money for tickets, mechandice and parking amoung countless others and pack that stadium full each and every game. Last year was a 5-11 season and everyone was still up in that stadium. I call bull on Theismann.

The fact that a former player has to even bring this up or "call us out" is all that really needs to be said. We as fans should do the job without being prompted to do so. Some might say it has something to do with the team losing but I believe that real fans cheer and get "up" for the game no matter what. The ones of us who have lived through Gibbs I, then the years after he left, and now Gibbs II have had plenty of time to prove what Redskin Nation is all about.

He wasn't talking about the number of people at the stadium, how much we paid, or how many games we went to. He was speaking directly to the the fanbase as an appeal to help the team. Help by making the stadium tough for oponents not help in making the team money. :2cents:

Just now on the Redskins game, Joe Theismann issued a challenge to all of us Redskins fans in talking about our schedule and how we play 3 of our first 4 games at home and how this is a tremendous opportunity to make a difference. He said that the Redskins fans need to take Redskins Park back. That opponents can't communicate in our house. I agree 110%. We have the biggest stadium in the NFL and there is no reason why we can't be the hardest place in the league for teams to visit. Let's bring this attitude to FedEx Field this year. WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE. Your team needs your support, are you down!?

:eaglesuck

HELL YEAH IM DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I go to the Eagles game, I'm going to have my whole section fired up as usual!!!!!!!!! Im amped up right now!!!!!

The Skins MUST take those 3 games. The schedule gets much harder after that. In the NFL, if you cant win at home then chances are no postseason. We need to get old school like how it used to be at RFK, the house has to rock harder than ever. Be that 12th man that our boys need.

The ticket holders need to quit selling their tickets to our opponents fans. There should be plenty of redskins fans up there that would love the chance to go see a game, seek them out.

Two years ago, I flew up for a night game against Baltimore. I was in shock that the fans in the house didn't seem to know that they should be making as much noise as possible when the opponent had the ball. But I was glad to hear that they were getting much better at it last year.

This is gonna be a great year, and it's the 12th mans job to rock the house. Every redskins fan leaving the stadium should be on the verge of losing their voices when they start leaving the place. It's their duty to fans that can't be there!! So gett'r done!!

Exactly. Making a lot of noise is doing your part, and what is just as important is making sure the stands are filled with Redskin fans. Let's do our part and make lots of noise, and make sure our extra tickets go to Redskin fans! How sweet would it be if everyone did there part. How much louder could we be. It's like voting, maybe one vote won't make the difference, but you do your part. Because it helps the team.

Just on 3rd downs mind you. Its inappropriate and rude to stand up and make noise during the first 2 meaningless downs.

With all due respect, you couldn't be more wrong. You can sit down and relax at home. When you are at the game you are part of the game, stand up and join the 12th man and make some noise. First and Second down are not meaningless for a TD scored on those downs counts the same as one scored on Third down.

I agree with Joe. We must protect our house and make that a serious advantage. If we win all of our home games and split the road games we are 12-4. This should NOT be seen as unreasonable. Does anybody else remember two years ago when we opened up against the Bears at home and they were driving at the end (in a very close game) and the crowd pushed them out of field goal range with something like three straight false starts (not on Third down)???

I think it's a little more than ironic that was the same year we started off 3-0 going into a bye week and later marched to the playoffs. Only difference is this team will not have a major hiccup in the middle of the season. Go 'Skins!

Joe just left out the part about the team needing to be competitive beyond the 1st quarter. We aren't fairweather fans, but its difficult to make a lot of noise when the team isn't in the game or you can't stand to watch the next screw up - as has been the case during the recent past.

Having said that, I'm all for FedEx rocking. The fans and players should do their parts. HTTR!!!

Every game I go to. EVERY game, I stand and scream. I lose my voice within the first five minutes of the game, but I scream until my sides hurt. I turn around and try to get the rest of the quilting bee participants up and loud, but most of em just sit there with their hands folded in their laps. I HATE THAT!!! The players and coaches all say how important it is, how it juices them up so much when we're loud like that. I sat under the mezzinine for the Raider game, and you want to talk about loud? Thats awesome!!! Thats where the fans are. I sit in the upper level and lose my mind every time. Thats what its about. Win or lose, I do my best singularly to affect the outcome of a game. The only way we fans can do so; Make it a difficult place to play.

Apparently my sarcasm wasn't clear enough in my post. There was a thread earlier this week that was getting quite a lot of posts where the majority of people were saying that its not appropriate to stand and yell any time other than 3rd down. I was definitely in the minority over on that thread by advocating standing the whole game and making noise when the D is on the field. It seems Joey T's statement have sent all of those types running for cover.

EDIT: Here's the thread I'm referencing: http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208458
