TonyRomoProBowl
This is a really silly thread, but i am glad to know we (Dallas fans) are wanted and loved! I have been around, been busy but been around. I havent seen any threads that i was interested in, except a couple prediction threads.....but then again, i get tired of responding to the silly articles some of you guys post. Its not worth it, when the answer is always..."i didnt write it" or "this is about Dallas and not Washington".........and any of the other silly things that go on after a negative Dallas article is responded to. And its preseason Bubba, no one cares about wins and loses, only player performance....and i do believe every Dallas fan i know is concerned about the way the Cowboys played in the Houston game, but we still think that we have a fairly good (possible) playoff team..... BigDFan5
Funny I have seen plenty of Cowboys fans replying, maybe the reason is so quiet is because tr1 has not posted a dozen new Cowboys articles for us yet. He really needs to get on the ball he is letting everyone down
ouvan59
Usually a lurker and infrequent poster, so I can't speak for more regular posters but this seems quite logical to me. Wins in the first two games brought discussions with skins fans saying it is just preseason, cowboys game planning, beating up backups, still haven't won a playoff game in a decade, etc and cowboys fans disagreeing with many of those statements. There is no less disagreeing going on after a Dallas loss. It's just the sides flip-flop on the issues. For Skins' fans the importance of preseason is now elevated and for Boys' fans it's importance is reduced. There is all kinds of rationalization going on on this board 24x7. But I'm sorry the Boys' posters have been conspicuously absent this week. A few have popped up here and there but for the most part they've been quiet as church mice. It's possible that they've all been "busy" as one Boys' poster suggested but I'm guessing that it has more to do with a little air being let out of the balloon. Also tr1 has posted just as many articles this week as he usually does. They just somehow roll off the front page much quicker than normal. <crickets>
flashback
With the way this staff was constructed, it is not surprising the ST are experiencing issues. I felt the ST had been some what overlooked by Jerrah as he was backwardly hiring staff. Just for your information, here is the first paragraph of Bruce Read's bio on dallascowboys.com: Bruce Read returns to the NFL for his sixth professional season and his first with the Dallas Cowboys as the special teams coach. He was hired by Cowboys new head coach Wade Phillips on February of 2007.

flashback
Only b/c Papa Jerry said it was ok Jerry writes the checks. And he's the GM. Did Snyder say it was OK for Gibbs to hire his ST coach? Of course Jerry said it was OK. But pretending that a) Jerry hired Read before he hired Phillips or Phillips had no say in the hiring is, well, let's just say its contradicted by the facts we have available to us. Honestly, this obsession you guys have with demonstrating Phillips diminished status as a head coach is really cutting into your credibility. When Jerry actually does something (like sign a $25M contract with a WR over the head coaches' objections), then make your point. But singling out a guy who was found by Phillips and hired by Phillips as evidence that Phillips has no authority or autonomy is just bizarre. TonyRomoProBowl
Maybe there is just more skins activity with all the false bravado of the great expectations you all have of your team now, that you look good on Defense in the preseason....which i still cant figure out why you guys give so much credence to.......Seriously, do you guys really put a lot into the preseason for your defensive performances? Just wondering........I mean i looked it up and saw that the skins are the #1 defense in the preseason...is that something that excites you for the season? This place would be much better without the lot of you. The reality is the final score on game day, the back and forth stuff is just a bunch of blowhards making noise. Yes it does, this defense as compared to the performace last year's preseason and regular season for that matter, is a night and day difference. They are flying to the ball, are much, much more physical. Landry looks great, we are much deeper in the secondary. If we can get anything even resembling a pass rush from the front four, we'll do well. I am much more confident in our offense with the acquisition of Kendall (which worried me, pretty badly). That being said, looking at you schedule, I don't see more then 9 wins. The stretch of @ NE, @ NYJ, PHILLY, and @ DAL -- we could be 0-4 in that stretch. How's that for honest appraisal? Cowboys still suck

The defense does look to be better. i have seen it myself. As much as it pains me to admitt it i still stick by what i said...the skins D is much better then last years and is playing with fire....that being said, do you have any idea who finished 1st in Defense last year in the preseason? This is about how you mentioned that Dallas fans don't care about preseason games wins or losses to be exact, which is far from true. If they didn't care about the loss to the Texans then why are you saying that Dallas fans are concerned about it? What does Skins fans being happy w/ Dallas injuries have anything to do w/ your post about meaningless preseason games?
