ACW
They do curse WAY too much - I dont mind myself but I am driving my kids to daycare and my 2 year old started saying "s**t" so I have to wait till I drop them off to turn it back on. :slap: That is for letting your kids listen to Howard and yet mainly worrying about the profanity
Chachie
Lemme ask you this, do you think his shows have taken a dive in the last few months? BTW I was one of the fools as well, but you right there is sooo much freggin content on satellite radio it really doesn't matter if Howard is on or not. Most of the time I end up switching channels anyway.-Grant I still believe the show is high-quality and is still totally hilarious. BUT- I am truly getting angry at all the vacation time he takes. It's getting to the point where he's almost one week on, one week off. I do feel ripped off by that. I'm not into hearing what I've already heard and he should realize that his fan base did have to pay money and install equipment to follow him over. Don't disappear every 3 weeks, Howard. Not cool. tizzod
I still like him. I think Fred is amazing. The sound bites are what get me more than anything.
Hooper
He definitely takes way too much time off, but I think the show is better than ever.
EersSkins05
I was a big listener back in the Jackie days (I used to listen to the show every morning in high school as I sat in the back of class with mini receivers in my ears... lol), but didn't get the show until he came to satellite, so I was unfamiliar with Artie. That said, the show is 10x better now than it ever was in the old days, primarily b/c of Artie. Jackie was just annoying. And yes, his vacation time is a bit extreme, but like a previous poster said, it's summertime... lay off. No one gets mad at their favorite TV shows for taking the summer off. Hooper
I agree. He hasn't been funny since about the time Jackie Martling left the show. Could not disagree more. Artie Lange is so much funnier than Martling, who makes an appearance once in a while now just to remind everyone of unfunny he is.

The Glut of Vacation time is mainly a Summer thing. His Daughters go back to school next week, and the vacations will decrease to a holiday or 2 until Christmas week. I personally relaly enjoy his show. Not for the profanity or the T&A, but for the honest open conversation. He doesn't even curse that much. It wasn't the censorship of cursing he had a problem with. It was the censorship of ideas and opinions. I not only listen everyday, except for repeats, I record the whole show as .mp3 and download it to my iPod. That not only makes my commute bearable, but I can FF past the breaks or any repeated Bits or Phony Phone Calls by Jack and Rod. and on top of all that I get all the Redskins games in NY. How Cool is That?!?!?

I don't think Jackie was/is necessarily all that funny--but I thought they had good chemistry together and Jackie's time to me were the "salad days" of the show. VegunN
lol @ the guy who said the Junkies were as good as it gets nowadays. If thats true then morning radio in DC must be the worst market for anything from 5am-10am. You're nuts. The Junks are so good.
cyfar
...BTW- I was one of the "fools" who did get Sirius because of Howard, but I also get NFL radio, ESPN radio, NBA Radio, Playboy Radio, Discovery Channel Radio, CNN radio, Maxim radio, stand-up comedy radio, and 3-5 channels for every music genre you can name. I get all these and more WHEREVER I go. I can drive to California and never change the station if I don't want to. $13 a month is NOTHING for all that. Playboy Radio? That seems like something that could only work in print and video. What does it have to offer?

Chachie
Playboy Radio? That seems like something that could only work in print and video. What does it have to offer? Honestly, I never listen to it. I listed it because it's nice to have the option of sexy listening. From what I understand it's a lot of porn star shows and sex talk shows. I agree that it seems silly to have it on radio.
G.A.C.O.L.B.
I have accidently listened to Playboy Radio once or twice. It's like sex call in shows. And then they have like radio porn. Nothing really to write home about.
jnhay
I listen to Howard Stern all the time, and even though I didn't have the opportunity to listen to the older shows when I was younger, they do play classic Stern now too. It sounds to me like the show is as good now as it ever was. The only thing I don't like is the pornstar interviews/segments. They're not that interesting. Riggins77
Howard is funny at times. It still gets a laugh out of me and he has some great interviews still. I usually drive to work and listen to the Ferrall Show replay (Howard 101) on the way to work as it's anything goes sports radio. It airs on Howard 101 at 8pm - midnight during the week, so I hardly get to listen to it live. Sha-sha-shake it up! Nobody brings sports like Scotty Ferrall brings it, 200% pure energy in his shows....it's insane http://www.scottferrall.com/ferrallavision/
GSF
I was late to my first day of seventh grade b/c of Howard, and now I'm 37 and I think the show is better then ever. There have always been plenty of people that "didn't get" Howard and thought that his show was nothing more then sluts and fart jokes, but regular listeners know Howard's show is so much more then that. Howard is a tremendous interviewer, and some of the interviews he's done on Sirius have been his best ever. The real beauty of Howard though is that he takes tough issues that make people uncomfortable, and he throws them up in your face. He forces people to deal with things that they don't want to. The biggest change that I've seen in Howard is that he has softened up quite a bit since coming over to satellite. He's 53, marrying a model, extremely successful, and he is finally free from the censorship that followed him everywhere he went for so many years. Life is very good for Howard now, so he's lost his edge a little, though he still gets pissed off at least once a week about something. The other big change I've noticed has more to do with the show. The show used to be much more about Howard and his comedy. He did most of the talking with Robin or Jackie occaisionally chiming in. Now, Howard seems to be more content to put a bunch of really interesting personalities in the studio and see what happens. I think the show is better then ever. It's one of the very few things out there that can make me bust out laughing to the point where I have to pull over or I'll crash. It's not for everyone though, so if you don't get it just listen to something else.
Fred Jones
Wasn't one of the reasons he got let go from DC101 was because he called the airline company and asked for a one-way ticket to the 14th Street bridge? Referencing the Florida bound plane that hit the bridge during the winter long ago.
Johnny Punani
I still like him. I think Fred is amazing. The sound bites are what get me more than anything. Same here. I love the sound bites from the show. I wish there was some way to download some of them. I did find one site with the Fake Arnold/Niccole Sheridan phone sex call. If you have never heard it before it's the funniest thing I've heard on the Stern Show in a long time. I almost crashed my truck on Southbound I-395 because I couldn't see from the tears in my eyes (laughing so hard). People driving by me must have thought I was having a breakdown or something. rdsknbill
Howard was good when he was controversial. Now he's just an overpaid hack. He hasn't done anything original in years.
