Matt Leinart sure impersonates Mark Brunell

In watching the replay of the Cardinals and Chargers game tonight, I noticed something awfully peculiar about Leinart's footwork improvement; he has those same exact happy feet of which Brunell has.

Can anyone else confirm this and has Brunell become an inspiration for young quarterbacks in the in the usage of ''happy feet.''

It's too bad that Campbell never had this teaching. ;)

Would you say IF Campbell puts up the numbers that Brunell has throughout his career that he was a good starting Qb.

If Leinart has a career like Brunell had, maybe we can trade for him when he's over the hill(in nfl years).

I only hope Jason can be as good. Matt has looked great with his long throws, he is going to be a nice fantasy QB this year.
Umm! You think that Matt Leinart is better tha JC? I dont know about that. Its way to early in there careers to tell.

I think he was comparing JC to Brunell hoping that JC has as much success as a qb in the nfl as Brunell once did.

I think he has been more consistent then Jason so far in their careers. Now to be fair Matt has better WR's to throw it to.

I was at the Bears/Cards monday night game last year...the way I saw him CARVE up THAT defense and even drive the team for the would-be go ahead TD...I thought to myself I would trade ANY player on the Skins for hm right now.

Leinart will be AWESOME!!!! He's got the offensive weapons around him and it really wouldn't surprise me ot see the cardinals as Super Bowl contenders in the next couple years...giv ethat kid an offensive line even half good and watch out.

people have said that about the cards for a couple years now.... maybe this finally will be the year they prove everyone right

with all this leinart talk.... you all are talking about him like he is a proven vet. while he is good, i dont think he is as out of jason campbell's league as you all make it seem

did ES merge with some cards board?

And people thought I was crazy for taking him in the 4th.

That would depend on what players were available in the 4th round and more specifically what QB's were available at that point. However, I wouild assume there was a player not as risky as Matt Leinart. Not to say he isn't going to have a great year, but that if you are in a money league, you are placing a lot of pressure on a 2nd year QB.

You must be on some pretty strong stuff, because that just hast to be the craziest thing I've heard in a long time.

Consistent? Comparing their last season:

Matt Leinart: 56.8%, 11 TDs, 12 INTs, 6.76 YPA, 12 Games started

Jason Campbell: 53.1%, 10 TDs, 6 INTs, 6.3 YPA, 7 Games started

In FIVE fewer games, JC threw just about as many TDs. His YPA can be attributed in part to who he was throwing to, but otherwise they are comparable. The completion percentage is a little bit lower, but he was improving steadily toward the end of the season, so it probably would have jumped a little bit as he got more comfortable in the offense. In terms of consistency, he has the second longest active consecutive games touchdown streak. So yes, maybe Matt Leinart does have slightly better consistency when you look at completion percentage, but points are the only things that matter in the NFL, and Matt Leinart had four games of zero touchdowns, while JC had none.
