portisizzle
..Yankees that is. $200 Million spent WELL......... http://mlb.mlb.com/news/gameday_recap.jsp?ymd=20070827&content_id=2173966&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=det DETROIT -- The Tigers hadn't won a series in more than a month. They hadn't won a series in the regular season against the Yankees since 2004, not at Comerica Park since 2001. They hadn't had a game like this in too long. In a two-week stretch against American League competitors in the race for the postseason, in a homestand that included four stressful battles and a series that began with nearly an all-night game, this was a good night. "It was good to have a win like that," Sean Casey said after Monday's 16-0 win over the Yankees at Comerica Park.

praise_gibbs
Mussina SHOULD be gone after that crap. Can we get Randy Johnson back for him?
Reic
Touchdowns are only 6 points and a safety is worth 2, that is only 14 . You need to include 2 extra points.
rincewind
Ehhh, at least it wasn't a MLB record 30.
TheDoyler23
Tigers could have had even more runs hadn't it been for a few excellent defensive plays, plus the Tigers didn't tag up on a fly ball, or take the easy extra base, etc. It took a series of special events for Texas to score 30. Some days, you really get whopped. Still counts as ONE loss though.

Redskins Diehard
They hate the Yanks moreseo than they like their own team. FACT and sad. I actually hate the Yanks more than any other team(Cowboys included). This was not the case prior to 4 years of living in NY. And I do hate them more than I like Baltimore but that isn't my team....Go Nats. And tell me they suck...I know they do and it doesn't bother me NEARLY as much as the Yanks sucking bothers you folks

If you hate a team more than you like a team.. you have to be a casual fan. Which then would be understandable. You can't be big into baseball and root against your least favorite team more than you root for you favorite.
jbooma
That was nasty and you have to think Moose is hurt. However he only gave up 6 runs and the entire staff gave up 16 so it wasn't all his fault. They did not look like a playoff team last night. Spaceman Spiff
At least the O's have been shut out this year. They're the last team in the majors that can make that claim. The Yankees have been shut out about 4 times this year or so.

jbooma
Yanks are playing like a team that has no wiggle room tonight up 3-2 in the 6th on the Sox. The problem is Boston only needs one game in this series and NY needs all 3.

I swear, non-Yankee fans act like we're exempt from being able to win the wild card and have no option but to win the division.

I was talking about the division For the wildcard you are right 2 out of 3 would be fine.
