Corcaigh
^^^^^^^ We had a total eclipse around 6am and went to asleep. Didn't get the red but Didn't stay up to see if it went red. It was still pretty cool. Don't think I has seen one since the 80's. Is that a picture of you in your sig?
CPortJGibbs89
Did anyone else hear that on Monday the 27 at 12:30 am that Mars was suppose to be so close to earth that it made it look like there was two moons? My girlfriend got an email about this and we went outside at 12:30 am to look and it was just one moon as usual. Just wondering if anyone else heard about this. Yeah, that dumb e-mail has been confusing people for many years. In August 27 2003 Mars was the closest it has been for 60,000 years, but it was still 35 million miles away. When Mars gets that close to the Earth it looks a little bigger in a telescope and it's easier to make out surface features. To the naked eye it just looks like a bright orange star. Thanks for actually clearing that up for me.
MikeInJc aka M.I.A.
The moon kind of looked orange-red last night also around 8:30PM while I was out at the driving range in Alexandria. Impressive indeed. And by the way, PCS those are some damn nice pics.
Koolblue13
The last three nights have been simpily amazing. The moon came up big and red last night. The two prior, it was so bright out, I was walking the dog around the race track and throught he woods for hours. I found myself just stairing up at the moon for 10 minutes at a time. My dog and I actually layed down in the field for a while. Beautiful skyes...
