jaydogg3eb
So... I thought I would take a stab at the final roster at this point in the preseason. I think the final roster is 53, but please correct me if Im wrong. QB J. Campbell M. Brunell T. Collins RB C. Portis L. Betts D. Blaylock R. Cartwright FB M. Sellers Beasley OL C. Samuels J. Jansen R. Thomas P. Kendall C. Rabach M. Pucillo T. Wade S. Heyer WR S. Moss B. Lloyd A. Randle El J. Thrash T. Pinkston TE C. Cooley T. Yoder DL A. Carter C. Griffin J. Salavea A. Montgomery K. Golston D. Evans R. Wynn P. Daniels LB L. Fletcher M. Washington R. McIntosh H. Blades K. Campbell R. Godfrey CB F. Smoot S. Springs C. Rogers D. Macklin J. Butler A. Jimoh S O. Stoutmire P. Prioleau S. Taylor L. Landry V. Fox ST S. Suisham D. Frost E. Albright That's the team I would go with if I was coach. I would send Palmer to the PS this year, and bring him up as a 3rd string next year. Share your thoughts...
No_Pressure
All are very good choices, I would have Westbrook as my surprise to make it over Butler, but I would probably be incorrect, just hopeful I think realistically, this is probably the best bet at what the actual roster will be...I think it is 52 right now if I counted correctly, so you may have room for 1 more somewhere...maybe not. Tarpon75
I would think the team would need to carry at least 1 more o-lineman than you have on your proposed roster. It looks as though you should be very close on your projections.Kind of hard to argue with any of them. Kurd Cudins
You didn't realize that you have 11 DB's? There will be 9, AT MOST. You should adjust your roster accordingly. Add a DL and an LB. Edit: Also, you are one short at 52. Add another OL.
snaps
I would like to see Bradford or a young guy make it over Pinkston.
shakazullo
Chris Wilson is going to make this team. Either in place of Wynn or Evans or just outright but he will make the team. Rock is in danger of not making it. They have worked out a lot of people at returner to see if anyone can do it. Much like Lemar Marshall I think everyone like Rocks but he is limited. And please oh please can we finally get rid of Ade Jimoh. Great special teamer, can't cover a cold.
terpfan
I like it for the most part. I would drop a CB and add an OL. But other than that it looks good.
Fury010
Here are my thoughts: QB (3) Campbell, Collins, Brunell RB (4) Portis, Betts, Blaylock, Rock FB (2) Sellers, Schmitt TE (3) Cooley, Yoder, Someone we acquire OL (9) Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Jansen, Wade, Heyer, Pucillo, Tucker WR (5) Moss, Randle El, Lloyd, Thrash, Hoag K (1) Suisham LS (1) Albright DL (8) Carter, Salavea, Grffin, Daniels, Golston, Montgomery, Wilson, Green LB (6) Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Godfrey CB (5) Springs, Rogers, Smoot, Jimoh, Westbrook S (5) Taylor, Landry, Prioleau, Fox, Doughty P (1) Frost

Larry Brown #43
And please oh please can we finally get rid of Ade Jimoh. Great special teamer, can't cover a cold. That's why Jimoh makes the team always...once you get to that level of the depth chart at that position they actually WANT a special teamer, not a cover corner. The idea is that assuming reasonable health for the CBs, Jimoh should never have to step on the field on defense. You need people who can play special teams... terpfan
So we signed Beasley for nothing? I dont know why people are assuming Beasley will make the team. We are just giving him a look. I'm sure his contract was minimal. You have to realize he didnt play football at all last year after getting cut by the Dolphins in pre-season. Xero21
I like the roster but I'd cut Butler and keep Fabini. I think we need all the depth we can get on the O-line right now just to be safe.
bulldog
Fabini has had a poor camp and didn't look good last year for Dallas either. It appears the ship might have sailed on him as an NFLer. Butler may be in danger of not making the team as he has missed a great deal of time in the summer. After Macklin, the Redskins are looking for ST help and Jimoh while limited otherwise has been a durable perfomer on teams. I personally think the next surprise move could be for a veteran receiver who is released by another club. I don't see anything that Bradford has done to recommend him. Has he made a play in either game so far? Pinkston is probably too rusty to be of much help immediately. As with Kendall the Redskins are probably looking for an upgrade here at WR. Palmer was a waste of a draft pick if the plan was to go with the 2 veterans all along. He has size and a strong arm, which means that SOMEONE out there without a developmental quarterback is likely to take him off our practice squad and put him on their active roster. So, we just gave somebody else a free #6 draft pick.

And I'm not convinced that someone will try to nab Palmer from us, not if he doesnt see any significant game action. Although I dont really know how it works. I'm assuming another club would just have to offer him a contract?

However, there is a possibility that that Alexander and Mason make the squad ... in which case either Rock, Ade, or Fox would have to be cut. Personally, I think the Skins should cut either Todd or Mark. It about time we have a young developmental QB. We don't have the luxury of waiting and waiting and waiting to see if Jason develops ... the younger QB will provide competition, and a safety net for the future. chrisc0015
The most glaring problem I've seen in this thread is lack of Tight Ends, in Joe Gibbs previous three years the Skins have had 4 TEs rostered each year. In 2004 and 2005 Sellers was considered an H-Back/TE, but 2006 he became primarily a FB and the four were Cooley, Yoder, Kozlowski, and Fauria. Cooley, Yoder and who else?
