Total Access just ran a piece on blloyd's program to help kids with spinal injuries to go scuba diving.

it was a nice piece and good to see brandon in a light not totally negative. didn't see this posted yet, but thought it was a nice positive light on him.

The title of this thread makes me feel dirty.

get your mind out of the gutter.

but seriously, they ran a really good piece on the community service thing that he did this summer.

i don't know what to think of blloyd. personnally, in my mind he has really been villified in the media and it was nice to see that he is actually somewhat respectable.

I have been diving for 35 years and an instructor for 20. I have had several handicapped students and a few of handicap dedicated classes. They were the most work and the hardest (physically) classes I have ever done. I can attest to the effort that goes into assisting them. I am suprised BL is an instructor. It is unusual to find African Americans that even SCUBA dive. Didn't see the show, but good on BL.

There was a group of black divers from DC called NABS that came down to the islands every year and dove off my boat. Any members here?

well that's actually an interesting point, b/c it didn't look like blloyd actually dove, haha. i was wondering that when i was watching, but they showed him out on the boat hanging out and talking with the kids and helping them in and out of the water. but it definitely didn't look like he dove, but it's the thought that counts.

and cheers to you for your efforts with the handicapped as well.

He can go feed 26 villages in ethopia, save the pandas and fight global warming for all I care. He better put the millions were giving to him for nothing to good use instead of scamming the Skins' fans.

Well, that's OK anyway. All the hard work is topside for the most part. Except for swimming with their hands instead of fins, they are far less disabled underwater. I guess that is the whole point. Getting them out is the hardest part.

An instuctor buddy of mine once took a blind man down. Never could understand the point of that.

People > Football

Unless, of course, your viewpoint is Cowboys/Giants/Bengals/Falcons > Joe Gibbs.

If you knew anything about anything you would know that Pandas are an endangered species.

oh, well i thought you meant something specific, or more important i thought you meant something happened to our pandas at the national zoo. i was worried there.

pandas > humans.

Football > People unless its my family.
That shows a lot about you, and not in a very good light.

The fact is that there is much more to life than football. Football is a game. It happens to be my favorite game, but it doesn't mean that it trumps people.

This was a story on a person who happens to be a football player. It is a very honorable and caring thing to do, and I salute Brandon Lloyd for his compassion , time, and understanding of children who will never be as fortunate as him and be able to play a game of football.:applause:
