Martini
Left hand circle! .... Right hand circle! Why doesnt the front office consult us on these deals????
moondog
I've always liked Kendall so I was pretty excited to see us get him...i never really had much faith for the Wade experiment although anything's possible with Bugel. I was hoping for a fifth non conditional, but I'm alright with the deal that was done...it's acceptable. I hope he starts before the season is over cuz imo he's the best left guard we got. stwasm
Good pick-up. Though his age concerns me, at least we have someone who can step in right away and perform. He and Chris Samuels manning that side should be good. Plus, I like the fact that we didn't give up a first-day pick.
Schoolmaster
If he plays 80%+ this year, do the Jets get our 4th rounder in '09 as well as our 5th in '08?? NO.
Thetimeisnow
Sounds good, alot of teams were looking for him. FO did a good jod here, 4th may be to much but only time will tell.
Fred Jones
Good trade. Now the skins need to draft a future guard next year with the picks they have left. Kendall will not play forever.
Oldskool
This is a good stopgap measure for a year or two. Kendall can still play and knows the offense a bit because of the Jets using Brian Schottenheimer's version of the AC system. Hopefully Buges can coach him up in time for the 1st game of the season. Monk4HOF
play him 79% of the time It could have been worse, it could have been a 1st or 2nd round pick. Hopefully this won't come back to bite us too bad. And go Heels!! :point2sky
Cdowwe
nfl.com said it was a 2008 4th rounder?
cuchip703
nfl.com said it was a 2008 4th rounder? Only problem with that, and it proves they might not do research very well is that we don't have a 4th rounder in 2008, according to others on this board. Redshu
I like this trade and have been an advocate for it once I knew he was unhappy as a Jet. I DO like the Jets though, we've gotten some pretty good players from them over the years. This line will be dominant this year; even better than last year. rellascout
I do not understand why so many people are down on this trade. People have been ****ing about how poorly our line has been playing in the preseason and how we have no depth. Now we go out and spend a reasonable pick from the 08' or 09' draft to bring in a starting caliber Vet and people are screaming bloody murder. With this one move we shore up the starting line and create depth should Samuels not be ready to go on opening day or if Jansens play does not improve. I just can't understand being down on this trade. I loved Dock but he got over paid, which was good for him not good for us. This move puts us on good footing and gives us a solid veteran line. dfbovey
So assuming he plays all year, we're down to a first, second, third, sixth, and seventh rounder, if I'm remembering correctly. Assuming we keep those picks...
mrdoctor
hopefully pucillo/wade are good enough to play in 21% of the offensive plays Yea that number is looking better in more than one way
jrockster21
So assuming he plays all year, we're down to a first, second, third, sixth, and seventh rounder, if I'm remembering correctly. If he plays all year, its more than 80%, and they get a 4th in 2009, and we'd keep our 5th in 2008. We already don't have a 4th in 2008 b/c of the Duckett trade. Oldskool
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=3611 Kendall's stat page on ESPN has this listed: Transactions Jets August 23: Traded left guard Pete Kendall to the Washington Redskins for a fourth-round draft pick in 2008. Oldskool
so does that mean we pulled a fast one and got Kendall for nothing? Hardly. It just means that someone can't proof read and check their facts.
Touchdown Redskins
If he plays 80% or more of the offensive snaps, then the Jets get a 4th round pick in the year 2009. If he plays less than 80% of the offensive snaps, then the Jets get a 5th round pick in the year 2008 (next year's draft). We currently do not have a 4th round pick in the year 2008, next year's draft, due to the trade for Duckett. Hopefully that makes everything clear. onnie007
A 5th-rounder in '08=4th-rounder in '09 from a draft value chart perspective. So, doesn't seem that it really makes much difference. Sounds good to me. We seem to have more luck in the 6th round anyways.
RDSKNfaithfull
If we are 4-8 in week 12 Do you think the skins would pull Kendell from the lineup even if he was clearly the best LG on the team?
Smoot Point Really
We may also get compensatory picks as Dockery was a 3rd rounder and depending on some of the FA's we gained as opposed to losing. Teams that get compensatory picks are teams that lose more FAs than they sign... We always sign more than we lose. LFB would certainly make up for losing Doc... isle-hawg
I'm happy that we are shoring up a glaring weakness for the team. But anybody besides me concerned about giving away yet another mid-round pick for a 34 year old?

I'd rather have us do that then have Campbell get seriously injured again because we can't protect him.
