Kendall trade details

I've always liked Kendall so I was pretty excited to see us get him...i never really had much faith for the Wade experiment although anything's possible with Bugel. I was hoping for a fifth non conditional, but I'm alright with the deal that was done...it's acceptable. I hope he starts before the season is over cuz imo he's the best left guard we got.

This is a good stopgap measure for a year or two. Kendall can still play and knows the offense a bit because of the Jets using Brian Schottenheimer's version of the AC system.

Hopefully Buges can coach him up in time for the 1st game of the season.

I like this trade and have been an advocate for it once I knew he was unhappy as a Jet. I DO like the Jets though, we've gotten some pretty good players from them over the years.

This line will be dominant this year; even better than last year.

I do not understand why so many people are down on this trade. People have been ****ing about how poorly our line has been playing in the preseason and how we have no depth.

Now we go out and spend a reasonable pick from the 08' or 09' draft to bring in a starting caliber Vet and people are screaming bloody murder. With this one move we shore up the starting line and create depth should Samuels not be ready to go on opening day or if Jansens play does not improve.

I just can't understand being down on this trade. I loved Dock but he got over paid, which was good for him not good for us. This move puts us on good footing and gives us a solid veteran line.

So assuming he plays all year, we're down to a first, second, third, sixth, and seventh rounder, if I'm remembering correctly.

If he plays all year, its more than 80%, and they get a 4th in 2009, and we'd keep our 5th in 2008. We already don't have a 4th in 2008 b/c of the Duckett trade. :(

If he plays 80% or more of the offensive snaps, then the Jets get a 4th round pick in the year 2009.

If he plays less than 80% of the offensive snaps, then the Jets get a 5th round pick in the year 2008 (next year's draft).

We currently do not have a 4th round pick in the year 2008, next year's draft, due to the trade for Duckett.

Hopefully that makes everything clear.

I'm happy that we are shoring up a glaring weakness for the team. But anybody besides me concerned about giving away yet another mid-round pick for a 34 year old?

I'd rather have us do that then have Campbell get seriously injured again because we can't protect him.
