Cowboys Offensive Line - According to San Antonio Express News

The credibility of this article died when they started comparing them to the 1996 version. It got buried when they said this about Kosier:

"Raised eyebrows last season with steady play"

But hey, that's been the theme around here with cowboy fans. If it makes you feel better, go with it. LOL!

in the immortal words or TR1, "I didn't write the article." I'm just sharing with no agenda whatsoever....

Golly, look at that! Fat pukes! Awesome.

You really need to look for the article about your two tackles health. I'm thinking before the season is over, Columbo is out with injury as is Flo...Big shifts to tackle and stinks it up as he did in Arizona.

I predict this because I watch the pukes closely...

Would you care to bet a sig on that?

I don't bet any longer on this board...

Anyway, that string of luck in avoiding injuries has to end soon. The probabilities don't favor the pukes this year. And those tackles have health issues that can be aggravated at any time.

why would you bet? that would involve putting your money or sig or whatever, where your mouth is.

there was a bunch of crap that happened a year or so ago over sig bets with tr1, myself, and a couple others, that several of us have stopped board betting

So since he doesn't bet, that means what he thinks won't happen? :whoknows:

The Boys o-line looked dominant in the last preseason game against Denver. Leonard Davis was mauling people....he should have been playing guard all along. If they can stay healthy they should be good.

considering that they were facing a bunch of Bronco backups, in a base defense

don't read too much into it

The Pokes OL looked "dominant" last preseason, but the regular season when it matters... it was a different story

Denver’s starting defense played the entire first half, and the offensive starters were pulled with 16 seconds remaining.

“Obviously, we didn’t do too much with our first units on either side in the first half,” coach Mike Shanahan said.

INJURY REPORT

OUT - DEN - WR Brandon Stokley, T Adam Meadows, T Jacob Rogers, T Ryan Harris, DE Tim Crowder, DE Kenny Peterson, DT Gerard Warren, OLB Warrick Holdman, WR Rod Smith. DAL - DE/OLB Greg Ellis, WR Terry Glenn, T Doug Free, DE Jason Hatcher.

QUESTIONABLE - DEN - WR Javon Walker

PROBABLE - DEN - WR Brandon Marshall, T Matt Lepsis. DAL - WR Terrell Owens

I will assume this is an accurate assessment of who didn't play during the game. Crowder is listed as 2nd string on Denver's depth chart. Peterson is being suspended for the first 4 games by the league and may not make the squad since they used first two picks on DE, Warren is already gone from the team, Holdman is injured and I beleive was competing for an OLB position. Starting DE Ekuban got injured half-way into the 2nd qtr. So it wasn't like they had a ton of starters out of the lineup.

The cowboys were the ones not playing starters. The starting FB and a WR (Glenn) were out while the other WR (TO), TE and both Tackles didn't play past the 1st qtr. The cowboys scored 10 pts in the 2nd qtr vs. Denver starters playing 6 backups.

Feel free to say Denver played a "base defense" (Dallas was playing their base offense) but to imply their success was due to (particularly Dallas starters) beating up backups doesn't fly.

Denver had a ton of players with nagging injuries that didn't play much.

http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2007/08/19/ekubans-loss-a-big-one/#more-321

This was coming all training camp. A major injury was on its way.

The Broncos were dealing with nagging injuries seemingly every day in training camp. Injuries, of course, are the nature of the game, but every day, the Broncos had someone go down. But they kept getting up.

Until Saturday night.

In a disastrous night in which the Broncos were badly outplayed in a 31-20 loss at Dallas, starting left defensive end Ebenezer Ekuban was lost for the season, coach Mike Shanahan said, with an Achilles injury.

Kenard Lang and rookie Tim Crowder will likely have to take Ekuban’s place.

Ekuban will be a big loss because he was a leader and he gave his all on every play. The Broncos must adjust.

Also, one team has a new coach who has to win and game planned to do so...one has a coach who was interested in evaluating players.

Oh, and I'm sure if Fergusen had gone down, it wouldn't have affected your team's performance...
