You honestly wouldnt trade an injury prone running back who is not that much better then Betts for a potentially dominating defensive end?

Looks like you are more a fan of the player then the team.

Portis will make you eat those words after this season. He's on a mission prove nay say'ers like you that he's NOT done. 1,600+.....watch. Screw trading,,,,Jared Allen....hell, I'll chip in for his keg ;)

Id rather do something like Brunell and a 3rd and 7th round pick for Abraham. Not sure if they'd go for it but I'd definitely do if it we had the oppurtunity. I'm usually one of the biggest supporters of keeping draft picks because I feel free agents and trades are sometimes more risky then the draft because schemes of certain teams can mask a players deficencies. However, with Abraham we would know what we are getting and all we would have to do is tell him to go get the QB.

I'd like to stay put with the DE's we have right now. If we make any moves it should be an offensive LT that can also play LG.

I disagree. If Jason goes down, our season is done. It really wouldn't matter if Brunell or Collins was under center. Collins know the offense better than Brunell and has played much better than Brunell has. So at this point in their careers it looks like Collins is a better back up. Brunell just doesn't have it physically anymore, honestly I can't see any other team wanting to pick him up. :2cents:

Brunell is not done. He's what 37? Yeah, he's been beat up during his career, but he rested a good bit of last season. He had all of the off-season to completely heal. The Falcons have a decent offensive line. Brunell would do well in ATL. So well in fact, that I wish the Skins wouldn't trade him to another NFC team. ATL is always knocking on the door for a Wild Card spot, a spot that we may be looking for this year.

ATL hasn't been a deep-passing team anyway. And they still have serious offensive weapons at running back, TE, WR..... Brunell would be dangerous in ATL.

Well, then Seattle has to dump Alexander, Atlanta has to dump Dunn, New England has to dump Maroney, TB dumps Cadillac, Chicago dumps Benson, Miami dumps Brown, SF has to dump Gore, Houston dumps Ahman Green, Oakland dumps Lamont Jordan, Cleveland dumps Jamal Lewis, etc, etc..

See where I'm going? Injury prone? Every RB misses a game or 2 during the season and CP had a freak injury. Otherwise he's been a 14-16 game a year RB. Some of you Portis haters are delusional. :doh:

Brunell 9-21 102 yards, 0 TD 1 INT, 4 sacks taken and back to back blown Timouts against Tenn, and another one against Pitt. No, you're right, he's not done. He's not done being a total screwup.

This is the kind of retort which demeans this board. I am not a mod and I have no board of my own, but if I did I would ban people who have the obvious motive of just coming here to post blatant insults and demeaning words to others of us who are here to discuss our favorite team and sport.

I don't mind if someone says "bad idea", which has been posted. I can respect your opinion and I have given you mine. No problem But these comments about smoking crack, or being retarded, or well..you can look through this thread and find some pretty mean spirited posts, not just to me, but about other people. And I have already given you my thoughts about the Brunell haters who have turned this thread into a TRADE BRUNELL thread...which we already have 2 of those.

I don't know why when one of us starts a thread on apples it later on becomes a thread on watermelons. And I don't know why the mods allow this with no punishment. One guys actually tried to insult me by saying that this thread was titled wrong because it was only my opinion. Hey buddy, guess what.....the title is correct because it is a PROPOSED TRADE. Why not stay on the subject of the original trade and not add Mark Brunell because my original post NEVER mentioned it. Not part of the discussion until YOU mentioned it.

The Falcons season is already over. If they start thinking about next season and beyond they will need a franchise QB. How about we send our #1 pick and possibly a future pick and they send us John Abraham.

We could use a pass rusher that will be effective for 2 or 3 more years and they certainly are going to need draft picks to position themselves to take the best QB in the draft.

Now that Vick's salary will be a non factor, they can take the cap hit when they trade Abraham. The Redskins have no pass rushers currently and cannot get to the QB without blitzing. This trade would allow Gibbs to strengthen a weakness on his team and give the Falcons hope for the future.

More often than not on this website I wonder if people here really know anything about football or are taking turns at the computer in a special needs class.

This is another example of the demeaning atmosphere on this board. WHEN is it going to stop. Making fun of special needs individuals in an unfunny attempt at demeaning other board members.

Will this board ever become classy and attempt to restrict those individuals who demean anyone else who does not agree with their opinion. This board and these kinds of comments continue to be bush league.

Please tell me you aren't serious. Portis and a #3 for a guy that we can't even count on being on the field all season. I guess you liked the idea of giving up a #2 along with the best DB in football to get a RB.

I would make that trade, but not for a more than likely injure DE who can dominate at times but will sit out most of the season with some sort of injury
