Oh give me a freaking break. Are these girls playing out there? This is utterly ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with what Pal....however the hell you spell it......did.

campbells knee was already bent awkwardly...does he really need somone punching at him?

He wasn't "punching" at him. He was making sure he was falling down. Once he actually realized the ball was gone, he turned around and headed down field. Seriously, I understand your sensitivity to this play as it almost cost us our starting QB, but lets not make villains out of people that don't deserve it. :)

In his defense though, Polomalu has a dirty streak and hits guys after it's really necessary. His motor is always going which you gotta' love, but he does take his fair share of cheap shots. Pittsburgh's dirty man I'm tellin' ya. Polomalu is no saint on the field. Sure, it's football but there's a fine line between playing through the whistle and taking cheap shots. Pittsburgh walks it. :2cents:

Fair enough, but do you honestly believe Polomalu actually knew JC was in an awkward position? Of course not. He essentially pushed Campbell, but certainly didn't expect it to further any chance of injury.

While I may not want to pitch a fit over this particular play, it was the blatant elbow to the back of Campbell's head by Polamalu during one of the early sacks that makes me want to call him a punk. JC was already down by another Steeler and TP did it after the whistle blew.

I'm the kind to call a spade a spade, though. While Sean Taylor isn't a satiable character playing the game of football by any stretch of the imagination, if he would have blatantly elbowed Big Ben in the back of the helmet after the play was over I would have thought "C'mon you punk, what the hell was that for? Stupid-***".

Even though it's a rough sport, some things are just uncalled for and just plain dirty.

IMO, after watching Vince Young dodge away from Kiwanuka last year after Kiwanuka 'eased up' I think defensive players should make sure the QB is down or the whistle has blown. I personally dont think it was a 'dirty' move. Unnecessary perhaps given that the ball was already thrown, but I really dont want to see any more 'highlights' like the Young/Kiwanuka thing...to me, protecting the QBs starts to go too far when things like that are happnening (ie, a defending player afraid he'll draw the flag and accidentally lets the QB go).

Thats right, this is football, the D has got to make sure the guy is down, Palamlu barely touched him (if at all). You got to at least give a player time to recognize that the ball isn't in his hand anymore.

I don't think any of us realized Campbell was hit awkwardly until we saw he wasn't getting up fast, after the play, and you are going to jump on players for THAT?

And before you call out all the bads of the other team, remember, we got Taylor on our team, who is bound to do something borderline sometime this season, and you can't defend him and criticize the other players at the same time.

Totally Agree. :applause: I

I won't fault Polamalu too much for that one. What he did ultimately wasn't nearly as big a deal as Kiesel's driving his helmet into Campbell's knee and was almost understandable assuming Troy had failed to see the throw.

In other news, did you catch the announcer calling Campbell 'Williams' in that clip? Wonder who JC reminds him of... :D

Yes! I would've called out that play before but my TV is downstairs and I'd rather watch the game than be on the game thread. I was thinking "Wow, didn't know the Macho Man played for the Steelers during the preseason."

It was a ***** move for sure.

Whether the ball was already gone or his knee was on the ground, there's no reason for it. If the ball is gone, there's no call to knock the player over. If he still had the ball, his knee is down and the play is over. So what's the excuse for the shove?
