jpgirth
Is this true? http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm 'SKINS SHUFFLE LINEBACKERS Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Washington Redskins have signed linebacker Randall Godfrey. To create room for Godfrey, the Redskins released linebacker Lemar Marshall. Godfrey, an 11-year veteran, has spent the last three seasons with the Chargers. Before that, he played for the Titans, Seahawks, and Cowboys. Marshall entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2001, and has spent his entire career with the Redskins. jrockster21
If true....wow. He's been here a long time, and it would be a huge mistake for team chemistry to let him go.

Tastes Like Chicken
Are you kidding me? Wow, Marshall was very solid IMO and I was happy to have him for depth. He knows the system and fits in well. I know that he was demoted for all-world Fletcher, and to give McIntosh the opportunity to grow, but man. This is surprising, if true. jpgirth
HUGE mistake....Marshall understands the playbook....will be a coup if another team (especially in the east signs him). I don't understand this move.
SHANT
Who cares, he couldn't bring down a tackling dummy, we have Marcus, Rocky & London no need for Lamar and his worthlessness
Skins-in-CT
Went to NFL.com, Foxsports, ESPN, not to mention WP and redskins.com - can't find anything remotely mentioned regarding this....

Brandon Lloyd Christmas
i didnt even see it on PFT. but if blades is actually coming along and trucks or campbell has stepped it up, marshall can go. hes way undersized and has trouble tackling. Loxley
Hes a versatile backup too. I dont think this is true. Its from PFT remember.
Diesel70ChipOnWhite
This def comes as a shock if its true. I really thought Lemar was very well liked by both coaches and players. This truly is the Not For Long league!

tbarz
have you seen how he's missed every tackle in the preseason? a huge reason why the team was the 31st ranked defense last yr.
Fergasun
I bet it's true.... PFT has been better at reporting. I agree this doesn't make sense... maybe Marshall just isn't as good as we hope/want him to be?
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
can somebody cut and paste the snippet, because i seriously just went to PFT and i do not see it anywhere on the front page.
Fan since a Fetus
Who cares, he couldn't bring down a tackling dummy, we have Marcus, Rocky & London no need for Lamar and his worthlessness Have you ever heard of depth? We need more than three linebackers. If this is true, I am very surprised. I was happy to have someone like him as a backup. I am surprised that they cut him so close to the season. Maybe he was doing horrible this year.
TheDoyler23
I always thought he was solid in coverage, but a little weak at picking his spot against the run. Seems odd that they would dump him like this unless they could bring in a backup that could do well what Marshall's weakness is. Seems weird. Zen-like Todd
I find that absolutely shocking. That said, if the team knew he wouldn't make the final cut, they are quite likely to cut him early so he can catch on elsewhere.

CPortJGibbs89
I dunno its Adam Schefter reporting and he is a pretty good source. I thought Marshall was a bad fit at Mike linebacker but I thought he was great at the Will spot in 05. How much does the Godfrey guy got left hes been in the league 11 years. I dunno about this move...
