Green Parking for the regular season for less than $400 EDIT: Make that $455

Today is August 21st. This thread is an experiment to attempt to prove that any Redskins fan without access to seasonal green parking passes can park in the green lot for the entire regular season for less than $400, including shipping. Since I already have green passes, I will mimic a fan without passes. I will pretend to buy the passes at one of a number of online sites. I will go through the motions of the entire purchase up to the point of final confirmation. That way I'll know exactly what the cost is. Using the edit feature, everything will be outlined in this #1 post including game, date of purchase, time of purchase, website purchased from, when pass was to be received, service fee, shipping fee, and total cost.

Date......Time........Outlet....Price..Fee....Ship.... Disc....Total...est arrival...actual arr

9/4/07 10:05 AM: StubHub, $50, $5, 16.95 fedex, -$20 = $51.95 9/6/07 9/5/07 Dolphins

9/20/07 1:20 PM: StageFront, $89, $2.67, $15 FedEx -0 = $106.67 9/21/07 Giants

10/1/07 11:18 PM: Stubhub, $45, $4.50, 16.95, FedEx, -$20,=$46.45 10/3/07 Lions

10/10/07 9:20 AM: Stubhub, $45, $4.50, 16.95, FedEx, -$20,=$46.45 10/12/07 Cards

11/7/07 11:20 AM: Stubhub, $65, $6.50, 16.95, FedEx, -10, =$78.45 11/9/07 Eagles

11/26/07 6:30 PM: Stubhub, $35, $3.50, 16.95, FedEx, -20, =$35.45 12/2/07 Bills

12/4/07 12:40 PM: ascticket, $39, $1.14, $7.00, FedEx, 00, = $47.14 12/6/07 Bears

10/18/07 9:10 PM: Stubhub, $25, $2.50, 11.95, FedEx, -0 = $39.95 10/20/07 Cowboys

Grand total spent on 8 Green passes for 8 regular season games: $453.

Well, at least I tried. :)

*See posts #25-26 for all the details.

What's the point Mark? To show that you are this awesome finder of parking passes or to actually help someone out that doesn't have parking passes? Weren't you the one that said you couldn't find green season parking passes for less than $500?

Wait, I don't get it. You're going to find the passes and post the info here?
Yes, sir.

The latter.

No. I was the one that said you couldn't find a BOOK of ten green passes for less than $600.

Got it Mark. I have the blue season parking pass but definitely would still prefer green. I sold my Steelers tix and haven't heard how the blue lot experience was. Anyone else out there park in the blue lot on Saturday? If so, how was it getting in and out? How far was the walk to the stadium?

I like this project. I am excited by it.

Honestly' date=' this could be an interesting experiment if you expanded it. It would be neat to track week by week where a fan without season tickets would end up sitting and parking and at what cost and at what level of effort. (Time on ebay, etc.)[/quote']Haha. You know what? For upper level seats that are typical entry point for waiting list fans, it wouldn't even be a challenge. Any fan who timed his purchases correctly would save so much money from face it would make your head spin.

Lower level would be harder. I'd probably get them for around face - lower for most games, higher for the cowboys.

Mark I got another option here,

for the last two years I have been buying Green passes from my boys at the Outback off of exit 17b for $40. Now keep in mind that some weeks these passes have the consistency of notebook paper, none the less, they work. If you cant find "the guys" there, you will spot them at the McDonalds off of 15b

My sister is looking for a green pass for the Miami game as well. She has to leave the game early for a business trip.

I'm not finding a green pass for less than $100 including shipping.

I picked up a Steeler's green pass for $36.08 last week.

Looking forward to seeing how this goes.

I've done that in the past and the passes were always legit at the McDonalds on the corner of Central Ave. & Morgan Blvd.

The only trouble with this method is that the hustlers usually don't come out in full till about 2 hours b/f kickoff, which doesn't leave as much time for tailgating.

If tailgating is of no concern, it's a sure bet the hustlers will sell you a green for $40 at most games.

Okay, well, you know you're sometimes buying counterfeit passes, right? I bet the foil reflection thing doesn't always look quite right, does it? And I bet while they're on your mirror they kinda curl up kind of funny sometimes, don't they? I wouldn't want to get caught with one of those.

So average of $50/game for green parking pass on a game by game basis? I'm curious to see what you find but am skeptical that it can be done, in particular if it's limited to online ticket brokers. Looking forward to seeing the results each week. Great experiment!

i bought 2 tickets in section 141 row 21 to the eagles game for 450 which includes a green parking pass.. pretty cheap since all the seats in the lower section near midfield are going for around 300 each,, most not including a parking pass.. is the green parking lot the best place?

  • 2 weeks later...

Season opener is Sunday. Today is Tuesday.

Today I made an actual purchase because I needed a green pass for a tailgate buddy. I ran across two passes on stubhub for $50 each in the same listing. That's a pretty good price.

So first I googled STUBHUB DISCOUNT COUPON and ran across this site:

http://www.couponhero.net/Merchant.aspx?m=stubhub&s=GS&k=stubhub%20promotion%20code

It advertises a $10 discount if you use FREESHIP214 as a discount code.

Then I went back to StubHub and tried to order a pass, but it wanted me to order two passes. There was no option to order one pass. Obviously, the seller made a mistake. He listed them as tickets in pairs, rather than parking passes which can be sold as singles.

So I called stubhub. They picked up right away. I explained I thought the seller made a mistake. He put me on hold and phoned the seller. Sure enough, he did, and said he'd correct it as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, they placed my order on the phone. To my surprise, the discount code was good for $20 off, not $10.

The total ended up being $51.95 which I put on my debit card. The pass is being shipped to me by FedEx two day. It should be here Thursday.

Stubhub took the listing down. It'll go back up shortly, showing one green pass for $50, if anybody is interested.

Or you can call them right now and tell them your buddy Mark just bought one pass and you want the other one: 1 866 788-2482

Edit: At 12:30 PM, the Green pass appeared on Stubhub, but was gone by 12:33 PM.

Edit: Rcvd my green pass the following day, Wednesday afternoon.

Edit: Today is Wednesday, Sep 19, 9:45 AM. Giants game is Sunday. Now is when I would prefer to buy but prices are pretty high. ASC has them $79 each, which was dropped from $89 yesterday. But ASC is showing 25 green passes. That's a lot of passes to sell in three days. I think he's going to drop the price again soon. So I'm going to wait.

Edit: Today is Thursday, Sep 20, 10:45 AM. ASC had 19 passes last night, but they're down to 14 now. Price is still $79. Demand is definitely up for this game, or I'd have found a cheaper green by now. I saw an orange on stubhub two days ago for $40, but I want a green. Stagefront has them for $75. They have 15. I'm not buying yet. There's a green pass on ebay -- bidding including shipping is at $111 and there's still 45 minutes left in the auction. Huge demand for this game.

Edit: 12:45 PM. ASC just hiked them to $89. He only has six left. So did Stagefront, $89 - $99 each, 12 left. Unreal. I think I'm gonna get burned on this deal.

Edit: 1:20 PM. Screw it. I'm buying from Stage Front now. $89 plus service fee $2.67 plus Shipping FedEx Priority overnight $15. Ouch. Note to self: Buy by Wednesday.

Edit: Today is Monday, Oct 1. 11:18 PM. Game is Sunday vs the Lions. I'm taking HockeyGuy1721's fine find and purchasing a green.

My shipped price is $46.45 FedEx Standard
