Great New Improvement at FedEx Field!!

Tastes Like Chicken

The beer has gone up to $8! :cuss:

That's almost a 15% increase from last year's price of $7. Great reward for fans of a team that went 5-11. Still no jumbotrons, still no digital audio, same lines at restrooms.

But- there is now Johnny Rockets food. :excited: Snyder bought Johnny Rockets recently, in case you didn't know already.

Guess who's paying for it?

Oh, and the beer I had sported a nifty 75th anniversary logo. I guess the empty beer bottle is supposed to be a collectors' item? :wtf:

Well, I guess I'll be doing more tailgating and I for one, will severely curb my beer drinking inside the stadium. Snyder, go **** yourself!! :finger: :nutkick: :slap:

EDIT: Found this after digging around some.

Here's some information, it's a little outdated (2005) but shows the prices for every NFL team. Also shows the cost of attendance for a family of four.

"TMR's exclusive Fan Cost Indextmtiny.gif survey, now in its 13th year, tracks the cost of attendance for a family of four. The FCI includes: four average-price tickets; four small soft drinks; two small beers; four hot dogs; two game programs; parking; and two adult-size caps."

We are second highest in the league of 32 teams, overall.

Us: $389; league average: $329.

At the time our beer was $7; the league average: $5.52.

Hot dog: $5 (or $6 if you want beef); league avg: $3.53.

The only team with a higher cost was New England. I think they've won the Super Bowl a few times recently.

I have tried to be a Snyder suppoter. I think that he has done everthing he can to help get this team back to the Super Bowl, however; I too am tired of this crap where he seems to almost be taking advantage of his enourmously faithful and devoted fan base. There is no reason the Redskins should have the (or one of the) most expensive Ticket prices, Parking prices, refreshment prices, souviner prices, etc. in the entire league.

Dan's advisors really need to have a talking to him before he starts to drive a lot of people out of the games.

I think this is hillarious. I know I'm in the minority but I go to sporting events to actually WATCH the GAME, not to get hammered on over-priced, watered-down, alcoholic beverages. If you don't like what the concessions stands are charging for beer, DON'T BUY IT. Get yourself drunk in the parking lot ahead of time (just don't do it when the Skins come here to New England in OCt) or stay home and get hammered watching the game on TV if the alcohol intake is so much a part of what you need to have a good time watching the game.

Nobody is forcing you to buy the product. If you don't like the price, don't pay it.

Wow. A post from MSF that I agree with 100%. The apocalypse can't be far off now. ;)

Well stated.

I love beer like I love oxygen.

However, a few years back I realized that beer in FedEx Field is an unnecessary inconvenience when you weigh in the

1) cost

2) game time lost due to pisser lines

3)warm beer

The beer that the walk around vendors sell is often warm, because they pulled it right out of the box 5 minutes b/f it gets into your hands.

The draft beer stands on the concourses always seem to have lines, leading to more game time lost.

I love to drink beer at Nats games b/c there are never lines at the urinals or the draft stands. $5.50 is about what you'd pay for 16 ounces in most bars when you include tipping.

I limit my beer drinking to the tailgate only when I'm in Raljon.

Not quite true. You're stuck there for three hours. It's not like beer is the only thing that's overpriced. It would be more fun to down a few dogs and a coke while you're watching (and remembering), but I usually grab some fast food on the way over, and once snuck in granola bars, for heaven's sake.

The insane prices do drive down my enjoyment of the game.

It's either higher, across-the-board prices for a new jumbotron or $8 beers, I guess. Also, for $10, that Johnny Rockets burger better be phenomenal.

Can I make a suggestion....

If the food & drink are that important to your experience, find a good sports bar or restaurant that shows the games on a large HD tv and go there instead; because it really seems like you're more interested in the edibles than the game itself.

I don't bother with concessions at the game, since I'm there to see the game and waiting in long-ass lines to get overpriced food and miss part of the game flies in the face of that.

I expect concessions at most places to be overpriced, since they know you don't have options. To expect otherwise would be silly. If you don't like the prices, don't pay them.

When i go to the game i tailgate before and after the game. So i eat and drink before going in. That way i dont have pay for the insane prices and i dont miss any of the game.

Then once the game is over i go back to eating and drinking in the parking lot.

Agreed. Been a season ticket holder for awhile. Tailgate early, especially this time of year. Too most of your eating and drinking out there. Then go in, get a nice soda or something for the game.....and watch all the suckers use the bathroom 10 times while you don't miss anything.

At a football game, vendors now carry boxes of ice and beer to sell to the patrons; this does not involve standing in line. I understand that the price will be higher than the liquor store down the road; but $8/beer is highway robbery and thinking such does not make one less of a fan, or an alcoholic (contrary to the beliefs of the righteous).

It always amazes me to see people get all bent out of shape over prices at "Attractions" so to speak. Premium entertainment carries a premium price for the goodies associated with them. Go to any high end resort, amusment park, on cruise ship, and you get hammered for your drinks and food.

Why should football games be any different then everything else.
