FS | LaRon Landry | Washington Redskins When I watched the highlights of Landry before the draft last April, I kept thinking I was seeing Ronnie Lott. Tough, tough, tough. The Redskins think he can be the smart quarterback of the defense they've been looking for.

Reactions to some of the picks:

1. Holy mother of God, Steven Jackson is only 24...the NFL is in trouble.

1a. Vince Young...really? Try Cutler. Shanahan knows how to groom a QB, and cutler has a lot of young weapons. I could be a homer and put JC here, too. And I will. Jason Campbell all-world QB for 2012...not to mention 2007.

2. The Brian Leonard pick was a total copout. Only a year ago he was a fulltime RB.

3. Out of all the players at WR, he chose Anthony Gonzalez? Not someone like Colston? Gonzalez will be good as a #3, but I just don't see him as a #1...he proved that when he was a no-show in the champ game once Ginn Jr. got injured.

4. I could've told you guys who's gonna be good as a lineman. No surprises here.

5. I like Calais Campbell on the D-line, but Jarvis Moss, I just don't see it. I really think Carriker or Jamaal Anderson might have him beat here. Also, Kimerion Wimbley should be mentioned here.

6. I'd put Puz from the Bills at inside LB (We are...Penn State!) along with DeMeco Ryans out of Houston. No problems with the OLBs.

7. First of all, LL is an SS, while ST is the FS...both should be mentioned here. Asomugha is money, and I think Paul Oliver will actually be here (that's just a hunch).

8. I could care less about special teams. All Ted Ginn Jr. will be is a special teamer.

Peter King is a complete and utter moron. Here's who King would have selected if he had written something similar in 1994, in an article called

"Peter King's 1999 All-NFL team":

1. QB Heath Shuler

2. RB Lawrence Phillips

3. WR Rae Carruth

4. CB Darryl Henley

5. TE Mark Chmura

6. C Barret Robbins

Hahaha well played. Seems like the Queen is good for picking up all the hype. It's like he looked at Mel Kiper Jr.'s draft board and picked the first rounders...

I can't believe Ed Reed doesn't make that list. He'll be old but he should still be money.

Steven Jackson is 24. Clinton Portis is 25.

Somebody must be anti-Ohio State!

Somebody must be anti-Ohio State!

Only when I'm rooting for Penn State...;)

Realisticly, though, I just don't see Ted Ginn Jr. as a great prospect. It's one thing if a speedster like Reggie Bush comes out with many different talents, such as receiving and rushing, and has an NFL type body, and made good on his potential. It's another thing when you're undersized to begin with and you haven't achieved your potential.

To start with, he's barely 6 feet tall and is a featherweight at 180. Yes he has speed, but he has suspect hands. His first two seasons with OSU, he was living off his returns, and when he had the starting role, he posted 59 catches for 781 yards, hardly drool-worthy. On top of all this, he has an injury that could nag him throughout his rookie year. I smell a Peter Warrick.

Gonzalez is Brandon Stokley. This is a compliment and a dis. He'd be great as a #3, but when Marvin Harrison retires, and Reggie Wayne is getting older, do they really think Gonzalez is going to pick up the slack? He couldn't pick up the slack when Ginn Jr. went out. Granted Troy Smith had no time to throw, but on the times when he did, it's not like Gonzalez was scorching the D.

As much as I like someone praising Landry, the 2012 team really is a pointless exercise. Are you telling there isn't something going on in the NFL right now he could've reported on? Just confirms my opinion that these sportwriters get paid for a lot of worthless drivel in the offseason.

He is gonna be so good.

Those of you that track my posts know if said only good things about Landry...get back at me in 2012

I have been following your work for quite a while, GhostOfLamontHollinquest. If memory serves correctly, you have been nothing but negative about Landry. From your 547th post, I quote "What did they draft him for??? For those of you tracking my posts, please understand my frustration - we needed d-line help!"

(I'm just having fun, please don't take my joking personal. Landry is gonna rule, though!)
