mdrun
Where have we heard this before..... "5a. Keep an eye on wide receiver Taylor Jacobs. He is having an outstanding camp and is making a serious push for playing time. He repeatedly got behind the defense today and several of the defensive coaches told me that he has been the most difficult receiver to guard during training camp." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/bucky_brooks/08/10/49ers.postcard/index.html Apologies if this has been posted, the search isn't working. The Sisko
Good for him. Jacobs is a heck of a nice guy. I hope he finally manages to have some success outside of training camp...except when we play the Forty Whiners in which case I'll be hoping for him to get jacked up in Area 51 like everyone else. RabidFan
He is a practice and camp producer but Mr. Glass on the field.
Rex Tomb
 Didn't he always look good in training camp? I can recall several where the coaches were abuzz about him during preseason but then he would vanish during the regular season. This is nothing new, he has to prove it on the field, which he has yet to do.
Truant
I agree with the poster above. Good for him. He was always a nice kid, just short on confidence. I wish him well.
Siven
The knock on Jacobs was that he was sometimes invisible in games and his hands were suspect. I was extremely pissed when we drafted him.

Dont get excited. Jacobs shines every year during camp. He become crystal come the regular season though.
prophet
We will see tonight if he does anything during the game. He was still very young when we traded him.

GrapeApe
How did he play last night? In the stats he had 1 catch for 11 yards. Did he play much? 1st or 2nd string?
pjfootballer
He was with the 2nd string. He had 1 catch all night.
DCsportsfan53
The practice hero lives!!!! They said the same exact stuff here, that he was the hardest guy for the defense to defend in practice, ect, ect. Who knows, maybe he'll make something of this opportunity but I certainly wouldn't hold my breath if I were a 9ers fan.
Hooper
He caught one ball last night -- but he also drew a big pass interference call. Meanwhile, our beloved Patrick Ramsey... well he just looked awful. His decision making, well it's just mystifying at times.
pjfootballer
Ramsey does the same thing over and over again. Tries to put the ball in double coverage. He locks on to receiver and doesn't go through his progressions even though he has time.
cuchip703
It looks like ending the Patrick Ramsey experiment was a good move for our FO. Will look even better if Campbell pans out
