Skins4Life28
Help. I have an Eagles fan over watching the game -- and he brought up something that left me a tad stumped. They keep mentioning how Gibbs changed his pre-season philosophy this year, and how he was disappointed with how he ran pre-season last year, etc etc. My bud starts busting my balls, and made a valid point... "You mean to tell me Gibbs, with all his experience, his greatness, and as a Hall of Fame coach -- you mean to tell me he still doesn't know how to run a pre-season?" Um. Valid point. Thoughts? coachtony
Tell your buddy that Gibbs will adapt like Andy reid did. When the Eagles could only lose in the NFC championship game for two years he decided that the next year he would lose in the Super Bowl.

But it was something that made me wonder. Gibbs really should know how to run a pre-season. It doesn't make much sense. But then again, he hasn't impressed me too much since his return. Jeremiah_Johnson
I have to admit, when you make such a big deal out of winning in preseason like GIbbs did, and then you come out and lay an egg like that, its got to totally shake the confidence of the players. You would think Gibbs could win a preseason game handidly if he wanted too, but apparently not.
fluffhead717
did they change the rules this year -- are they counting preseason W-L's now in the regular season?? didn't think so... so it shouldn't matter how gibbs ''runs'' his preseason. here's how you run a preseason -- show up, run plays you'll never run again (pgs. 1-500 in saunders' playbook -- pgs. 501-800 reserved for reg. season), hope no one gets hurt on the first series again, and maybe pull a win out in the final 3 minutes, getting TDs from 3rd and 4th stringers..... hmmmm, seems pretty simple to me. how else do you "run" a preseason? After a 14-13 MNF come from behind win, you'd think you Brokeback fans would learn to shut up until the game is actually over.

Peregrine
Everyone makes mistakes, and the best are humble enough to admit mistakes. Even the greatest coaches ever make mistakes. Who do you know that DOES know everything and always gets it right?
