I believe Landry will be starting the first game of the season against Miami. The whole point of drafting Landry was to bolster the pass rush and find someone who can let Taylor roam wild. The coaches will have Landry paired with Taylor often, and Landry's speed should make up for any major coverage defencies.

I think he will start week 2 or 3. I hope he starts in week 2 so he can an early taste of Prime Time NFL football.

Too bad Pinkston isn't still on the Eagles, cause otherwise I would be looking forward to him "losing the ball in the lights" again :)

Exactly. When you draft a guy this good coming out of college at a position like this, he needs to start seeing major PT as soon as possible. Especially since the reason he was drafted was to help remodel the entire defense and free up Taylor to do his thing.

Even if Landry doesn't actually start by Week 1, I'm sure he'll see tons of action against the Dolphins. The way Williams talks about him though it seems almost certain he'll start within the first 3 weeks.

I say the way he's been studying, getting reps with the first team, and getting accolades from Greg Williams, I say he'll be ready by week three to say the least. I'm not being too optimistic because I know how Williams is about starting rookies, which is how Gibbs is with veteran QB's vs. younger QB's, but I think Landry has thus far proven himself to be a true competitor for a starting spot. :logo:
