The whole point of drafting Landry was to bolster the pass rush and find someone who can let Taylor roam wild. Leonard Washington Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 i think the way gregg isn't talking him down is a good sign. i remember when taylor arrived, he tempered praise with criticism. i think they respect how LL seems humble as well as ultra talented. i wouldn't be suprised to see him by week 1. When you draft a guy this good coming out of college at a position like this, he needs to start seeing major PT as soon as possible. Especially since the reason he was drafted was to help remodel the entire defense and free up Taylor to do his thing.Even if Landry doesn't actually start by Week 1, I'm sure he'll see tons of action against the Dolphins. DaMuller7 Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 I say the way he's been studying, getting reps with the first team, and getting accolades from Greg Williams, I say he'll be ready by week three to say the least. I'm not being too optimistic because I know how Williams is about starting rookies, which is how Gibbs is with veteran QB's vs. younger QB's, but I think Landry has thus far proven himself to be a true competitor for a starting spot. :logo: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If he rolls out with the first team on Saturday I think that might be a good sign. I think no later than week 2 or 3 he will be our starting safety.
