What player in Redskin history has had the most memorable pre season?

Two of my favorite memories are of Gary Clark and Brian Mitchell. Gary Clark caught a deep pass in the 4th quarter of a preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings at RFK to win a game. Either it was Doug Williams or Babe Laufenberg who threw it. And B Mitch ran a kickoff back against the Atlanta Falcons, (i think it was the hall of fame game his rookie season). Most people don't think you get much from preseason games but I think good teams appreciate good play no matter when it happens.

I'll go with STs first preseason game. He was murdering guys that game. I think he caused a couple of drops and forced/recovered a fumble.

im pretty sure im right about these. they are the 2 games that stick in my mind-

taylor had 2 picks with 1 returned for a td in his first nfl action at the hall of fame game im think against denver.

the thrash return people are thinking about was against tampa bay the 1st year they wore their current uniforms.

Yeah, I remember a Taylor pick for TD. Not a long one from what I remember. 10-15 yards maybe? Jumped in front of the receiver and took the ball from him.

Here's one that went the other way that sticks in my head. Back in the 80's against the Vikings. Pretty boring game. Not much action. It was me, my Dad, and my Great Uncle...who had never been to an NFL game. The Uncle gets up to go to the bathroom. As soon as he's gone Tommy Kramer heaves a bomb for a TD.

Memorable preseason?

Well, I guess I usually come away with something.

In 2005, I watched the Steelers game with a Steeler fan and he flipped me off when we won. That was the only game I could watch in preseason from my college near Tampa.

Sticking with happy memories, for '06 I remember Espy's TD in the final game. I was pretty drunk and I could only listen to Tripple X Radio but it was still somehow exciting. People thought I was pretty nuts wearing my jersey, blasting a radio broadcast, and getting all excited over a game that didn't count.

:chug: :point2sky

"TD Espy!"

Did you win?

"No, but TD Espy!!!"

Darrell Green and James Thrash have always stood out to me. In his first preseason, before Gibbs considered him too valuable to return punts, just about every punt DG returned either went for a touchdown or a very long gain.

Of course, for Thrash, it was the kickoff returns, as already mentioned.

Lol the best preseason team were Spurriers team.

Anyone remember Osaka?

The 49ers were pissed!

I only watched that game to see the retro jerseys. If I remember correctly, they beat us up pretty good in the regular season that year.

I hate pre season.

Pre season football is like kissing your sister.

Not mine...yours!
