Weganator
I have been rooting for a monty/golston youth movement on the line since we drafted them, and if this has any truth in it i will be very excited as to how things develop over the next few seasons... Morneblade
Hmmm...maybe I got them confused. Yeah, that was Monty they were talking about. Golston has always been a very hard worker. Kid was in a really bad car wreck in high school and almost died, was in a coma for weeks. Came back and played football at a very high level when healthy at UGA. GIBBS LIVES
Mostly ever team in the league has glowing camp reports. It's just talk. After the Ravens scrimmage, let's look at the tape. Then see how unblockable he really was.
phatSkins27
The Redskins drafted Montgomery who is 6'5 and 315 in round 5 after Mel Kiper said there were much better players available at that spot.In round 6 the Redskins took Kedric Golston, 6'3 and 300, and again Kiper said that Golston had underachieved in college and was a questionable pick. In 2007 we shall see who was right. The early returns on Golston would seem to show that Kiper was wrong and that trying to translate college stats/performance to the pros for linemen is often a difficult feat. We shall see with Montgomery. When I saw him on the field last year the first thing I thought was even at 315 with his frame he could fill out to being 325-330 and still be a player. didnt mel kiper also say that mario williams was GREAT and that dan wilkinson was the next HoF DL or that Charles Rodges would be all pro or Mike WIlliams would be the next Chris Carter etc, seems if Mel Kiper says good things about you it spells doom for your career more often than not. so imglad mel kiper is down on our Lineman! SkinsManNJ
I hope this supposedly being unblockable translates on to the field when it counts.
Oldskool
I'd love to see it come true in the regular season. Will I mortgage anything worthwhile on it coming true?
Siven
Could this be why we didn't draft a D-Lineman? Because we have two young D-Lineman who the coaches feel are the future? If this is the case, I will learn to trust Gibbs and the FO more when it comes to who we draft. I always trust Gibbs when it comes to drafting. Jason Campbell has looked very good, ST was the better pick over Winslow, and Cooley was arguably the steal of that draft.
Nicealot
Wasn't Taylor Jacobs "uncoverable" in practice too? LOL!!!!!!!!!

DB44
didnt mel kiper also say that mario williams was GREAT and that dan wilkinson was the next HoF DL Not to beat a dead horse but you are definitely correct. Mel was all over Big Daddy's jock.It always boils down to desire in the NFL. How much effort are you willing to put in. Are you a rollie polley like Big Duddy or Stubblefat, Or are you a hard worker like Big Joe and Griff.
taylorcoreskin
If Montgomery can come in and be a force against the run on first and second down, that would be amazing. And then Golston could perhaps come in as a rotation guy as a pass rushing DT. The bigger concern is at DE, atleast in my mind.
Aireskoi
Good to hear he is playing well. Depth and rotation are key at the D-line. Keep them fresh and they won't wear down at the end of the game. I am comfortable at the DT position with Griffin, Golston, Salave'a, Montgomery, and sometimes Daniels. The middle should be a ruff place for Marion Barber and Brandon Jacobs to try and make a living against us.

cyfar
Like many others have said, this could be a good thing for our d-line or a bad thing for our o-line. However, I do remember Montgomery showing some promise last year before he got hurt. Maybe our D-line will be okay without the huge aquisition. Flycoach
Trevor Matidge(ex-redskin and now covers the skins for fox), or however you spell it, on SportsTalk980. He has been at practice for the last couple of days and stated that regardless of who is blocking Montgomery, he's been unstoppable. Don't know how true it is but I am just passing along the information. Hail! Great to hear! When reading about Montgomery last year (in the WP I believe), the article said that he doesn't realize his own potential and that once he works harder and realizes it, he'll basically be a beast! Todd Packer
and taylor jacobs was our best wr in practice a few seasons ago, but he didnt do crap during the games... expect the same from montgomery
