Trevor Matidge(ex-redskin and now covers the skins for fox), or however you spell it, on SportsTalk980. He has been at practice for the last couple of days and stated that regardless of who is blocking Montgomery, he's been unstoppable. Don't know how true it is but I am just passing along the information. Hail!

How does this guy have a job as a football analyst? Whenever I see him on fox, I change the channell as fast as I can. His co-host's have to feel like they just lost intellegence after talking with this guy.

Worst Analyst Ever (spoken in Simpson's Comic Book Guy Voice)

The Redskins drafted Montgomery who is 6'5 and 315 in round 5 after Mel Kiper said there were much better players available at that spot.

In round 6 the Redskins took Kedric Golston, 6'3 and 300, and again Kiper said that Golston had underachieved in college and was a questionable pick.

In 2007 we shall see who was right.

The early returns on Golston would seem to show that Kiper was wrong and that trying to translate college stats/performance to the pros for linemen is often a difficult feat.

We shall see with Montgomery.

When I saw him on the field last year the first thing I thought was even at 315 with his frame he could fill out to being 325-330 and still be a player.

Its been said in many WAPO articles and JLC chats that many of the d-lineman feel Montgomery has the most talent and potential but that he simply needs to put it together mentally and his work ethic needs to improve

It sounded like he had a good offseason. If Montgomery steps up, this will be huge for our rush D

i don't think mont's ability has ever been a problem. i seem to remember he dropped in the draft because of his work ethic; i even think there was an article about his attitude this offseason.

he seemed to be that guy who was really good at every level he played at without working that hard and then last year got a dose of reality. hopefully, guys like grif and salavia took him under his wing and helped him in that department. it would be great to see him pushing the competition for the starting job.

on a sidenote, i just ate a pepper and the pain in my mouth right now unblockable as well. sweet jesus!

I'll believe it when I see it in a game. I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the practice squad at some point this season. He didn't do a whole lot for us last year. Started one game when Griffin and Salave'a were injured and had 11 tackles the whole year. Now after one offseason he's "unstoppable"????? Let's be realistic around here, I beg of everyone.

i've heard that too, and i definitely hope he lives up to it.

it was also said by fellow ofensive lineman that derrick dockery had the most potential of the entire group.........

its also been said that brandon lloyd has the most potential of any of the WR's.....

I still say that DLine is the hardest position to scout out of them all - including QB.

From what I've heard from an articlehe has all the talent in the world, but wasn't much of a hard worker. He just got by on his talent, but in the NFL, that just won't cut it. Hopefully he can push the other DT to play there best and make a name for himself. Then we won't look like complete idiots for not drafting or picking up a single D-lineman this offseason.
