thats not a gut feeling

thats a feeling of a redskins fan

F'n A right! :point2sky

I was telling a buddy of mine today, who's a Skins fan, that I just didn't have this feeling last year. When Brunell is out there talking about it's "Super Bowl or bust " and then I watched those preseason games/first two weeks of the season, I knew we were doomed. This team seems to have an air about it that no one is going derail them. There's an energy, a lion stalking it's prey mentality. Our offseason has been so quiet that many of the so-called analysts have forgotten all about us or the have completely written us off. That's what this team feeds off of! We are taking the division, whether they like it or not.

Dallas has way too many holes to be considered a plausible contender. Unfortunately, many of the talking heads have already crowned them the NFC's representatives for this year's Super Bowl. Based on what, I ask you? Their QB looked awesome for the first five games he started last season and bad to mediocre the last five. Why? Because teams had film on him and could pick up on his tendencies. They're also undergoing a coaching change, and it sounds as if preseason has been club-med so far...oh he's a "player's coach" I keep hearing. That club med style sounds so familiar...hmmm...and how did that turn out for us last season? F the COWBOYS! :dallasuck

I didn't have this feeling last year either and like yourself after seeing them play those pre-season games last year I knew we were doomed!! But this year is going to be something special.

My thoughts... We're going to win it all because:

1) Carlos Rogers will catch 4 balls he would've dropped last year.

2) Jason Campbell will throw that 10% higher completion rate that Al Saunders has asked.

3) The defensive line will look young again.

4) 75% of the earth is covered by water, and the rest by Smoot.

5) Chris Cooley will give the cheerleaders even more to cheer about.

6) Suisham is the answer to more than a decade of kicking woes.

7) Our offensive line will forget Dockery and won't get injured.

8) Gregg Williams will invent a new way to get 8 defensive backs on the field and stop the run.

9) Brandon Lloydd will catch a TD

10) Joe Gibbs will retire a champion

I believe I can fly...

I believe I can touch the sky...

Think about it every night and day...

Spread my wings and fly away...

I believe we, the collective fandom of the Washington G.D. Redskins CAN fly. We will fly. We must fly. We'll fly in the face of the haters. We'll hate in the face of the Flyers (errr...Eagles). This is OUR year. And nobody, but nobody dare step between us and the inevitable immortality for which we are destined. May the unbelievers be cast into the fiery depths of deepest hell as this interminable juggernaut called the Redskins charges toward ultimate victory. We are that object that cannot be moved. We ARE that force that cannot be resisted. We are here, in 2007, to claim that shiny silver trophy that by all rights is OURS!!!!!

(That, or hopefully we'll at least win more than five games this year.) :)

Hail, beeotches.

Thank you for your worthwhile addition to this thread.

Seriously man, what are you doing. The original poster put hours of thought and research into the thread and you want to jump in with a one-liner. I have a gut feeling that you don't support this guys "gut" or "feeling"

I agree with Rex Tomb... Its been a pretty quiet offseason, and nobody seems to have all these lofty predictions/expectations for the skins, that is except for all us Skins fans :shhh:

Last preseason when Brunell admitted he was still struggling with the playbook and the media was blasting the 700 pages, I got kinda worried. This seemed to give them a built in excuse for failure. When they played poorly, the offensive scheme was an easy scapegoat.

This off-season/training camp there seems to be a steady calmness coming from the players and coaches. Comfortable in what they need to do and the people around them, but not ****y. Every player interviewed I have seen or listened to seems to carry the same chip I see on Coach Gibb's shoulder. They mean business, and last year will be history.

Whatever happens this year, I am so pumped for the season and this will be my first with both ES and Sirius Radio. I have had the DTV NFL Ticket for 3 seasons and was at the bar Sundays before that (picture but no sound for my team in NY Giant land). I feel like I am closer to my team than ever and love reading posts from you real Skins fans.

Here's to a great year!

Are you as upset as I am that Sirius NFL Radio will not be covering the Redskins camp, but will be covering just about everyone else's at some point this August?
