elkabong82
And Elkabong for the last time I did not bring up Young I defended him when someone else brought him up so drop the argument its pointless.Edit: Funny how none of you have a response for the correlation between elite qb's and teams going far in the playoffs. Because I already commented about the thread topic, something you still haven't done. I never said you brought up Young, just that you hijacked this thread and turned it into your defense piece for Vince Young, and now you've carried it over to QBs versus Defenses winning championships. Whether or not it is on topic, I will respond to pure rubbish like that and argue against it. And I responded to your weak argument previously AND in the post above yours I quoted that 5 of the six Superbowl participants the past 3 years have had great defenses, and the Colts only advanced because their D finally stepped it up and stopped the run with Sanders back in. BMahoney
Riggo young debate is over, you weren't clear in your original post about the 197 yds you didnt say the team or young thats where they confusion came in. And no young obviously did not get those picks, but when your d sets you up in short yardage situations its kinda tough to gain alot of yards dont ya think. You then showed the scouting report and it said what was asked of VY and he did it perfectly.
Riggo#44
And to you Riggo, yes I am saying a team that played in the Superbowl was not an elite team. Would you like to make any sort of wager about the bears this season? Probably not but if you do I am up for the taking. There D is getting Briggs back they only lost Johnson, so you would assume this elite team will make it far again, or do you believe that their awful qb might prevent them from going far again thsi season. No, b/c historically Super Bowl Losers do not do well the next season. It's been that way for 10 years. Want to bet Vince Young has a sub-80 passer rating? BMahoney
Young won't have a good passer rating, that comes with pocket qb's who throw high percentage dump off passes. Young doesn't get these easy passes because he can scramble and pick up more yards himself, Ill bet you that Young has more total yds then Campbell next season. elkabong82
Elka go back and check the 15th post before you keep talking, you contineu to make yourself look dumb. Funny how you always say everyone who disagrees with you looks dumb. I'm not the moron who is trying to claim QBs win championships over great Ds, or that Garcia and Romo sits to pee are elite QBs. I missed your first post becuase again, you've hijacked this thread into a defense piece for Young, and a childish argument that only elite QBs can win Superbowls. You continue to make yourself look dumb by staying off-topic, and generally with any argument yu've tried to make in this thread. Thanks for playing, you are awarded zero points. You then showed the scouting report and it said what was asked of VY and he did it perfectly. You keep changing your argument...it's actually pretty funny... You obviously missed this part: Meanwhile, Houston quarterback David Carr threw one interception and fumbled twice, one being returned for a touchdown by defensive lineman Tony Brown. Tennessee's swarming defense was the difference, producing four sacks, two interceptions and recovering three fumbles It's over b/c you have been repeatedly made to look like an ass! Who do you think had more to do with winning this game: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=261119021 Or this game: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=261015028 Or this game: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=261015028 So there are 3 more games Vince Young didn't single handedly win. So where are you numbers? Weren't going to make me look like a "fool"? In all, I'd say Vince Young played a significant part in 3 wins (Indy, Buffalo, and The Giants) but did not, single handedly beat anyone.
BMahoney
Single handedly has been a word you all used, I asked who supported him? the 32nd ranked d or Travis Henry? what I said was that Vince Young led the team to 8 wins in a tough afc conference why don't you go back and check for yourself. Elkabong I also noticed you have no problem with Riggo saying anything completely off topic, but you do when I say anything. Yet you still don't realize I didn't bring Vince Youngs name into this debate. I am done talking to you to, you choose to respond to minor parts of my argument and don't respond whatsoever to stats. I said Garcia played elite when he was completing 61% of his passes had 10 td's and 2 ints. Those are rather elite numbers for the amt of games he played in, I also said Romo sits to pee was elite which he was for his first however many games and it was those wins that got them to the playoffs. This debate is over you two clearly think defenses win championships, so I will continue if one of you wants to bet that a top 5 D wins the Sb next yr and not a top 5 rated qb. If it is both then bet is void, if its one or the other we can make a wager. Riggo back to Young you can think of something we can bet on but it wont be his passer rating which will always be low. Elkabong looks dumb... http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3952618&postcount=37 This was your first defense of VY post because someone stated he was over-rated last year. Which is without a doubt true. I think your man love for VY has reached homosexual proportions. Yes I agree that Joyner's metric don't always tell the whole story, and that TRP is really reaching in his attempt to troll. Good job staying on topic. (Riggo brought up Young as one of the QBs on the bottom of the metric. His stuff was related, and I have no problem with people arguing against crap like you state. I have a problem with people who go off topic in several threads just to satisfy some man crush. You could have defended Young in a few posts and left it at that, instead all you've done this entire post is drool over Young, start a QB vs defense argument, and call everyone else dumb. That's why I have a problem.)

But as I said discussion over unless one of you two hussies want the bet. Check post 84. You obviously cared enough to point out that I had a problem with you and not Riggo. You continue to make yourself look dumb. You make yourself look dumb yes you are wrong. And in response to 84, myself and Riggo showed you plenty of stuff that proved your Vince Young theories, and especially your "elite QB" theories wrong. But I guess it's easy to be right when you ignore anything to the contrary. And now you want to bet like that will somehow erase the fact you've been proven wrong, lol. The discussions been over, now it's turned into a discussion/bet on Vince Young and your continued re-hashing and back peddaling. And what bet anyway? The Young will have more total yards than JC bet which you mentioned because you're scared to bet on passer rating. Gee, a QB who scrambles vs. a pocket passer who can scramble. Gee, total yards aren't in your favor at all. But passer rating you dismiss because Vince Young will never ever ever do any dump off passes. What bet? And often times a person resorts to betting when they are wrong and backed into a corner. It's the same as the "you'll see, you'll see" argument. BMahoney
The bet that is there will be a top 5 qb by passer rating in the sb, or there will be a top 5 D. If both the bet is void... so since I am so wrong and backed into a corner, would you like to take the bet are will you stop wasting my precious time here at the internship. Why don't you bet that whichever two teams are playing in the Superbowl, their defenses will be more the reason they got there than their QB. In the postseason the same was true of the Colts and Bears. In either case I'm not going to bet with you because the only reason you are willing to bet is to try and prove you are right, which means the likelihood of you honoring a bet is slim.
