JohnLockesGhost
So Training Camp is upon us and we, most of the Tailgating community, are going to dip our toe into the chaos that is known as "the Stadium." As most of us who have vetured into this dark area know, it is fraught with inanities that boggle the mind. On top of the standard empty-headed "You're an idiot" comments, poor spelling and lousy grammar abound. I believe we have a unique opportunity to present a united front against such defilement to logic, courtesy and the English language. Through the collective use of our penchant for witty repartee, reasoned debate , and good diction we can affect change in the abyss of the Stadium. But we have to stay together. We have to have each other's backs. So I propose we add something to our signature denoting our affiliation to the "Tailgate Mafia." Our posts will be thoughtful and well-written. We will jump on knuckleheads who have no substance, but we will do so with tact and wit. We will come to the aid of our fellows. Who's with me? this is a half joking thread

H_H and i disagreed on who was the key to the SKins offense this season. We had a really really good discussion about it, but i still ended up having to pwn him mercilously. We need to do our utmost best to transplant the Tailgate culture of wit and humor mixed with gravitas to the Stadium. Serious debates happen in here all the time, but they occur with respect and affinity. Alone, well, I'm afraid we'd assimilate into that humorless cesspool of "McCune sure is jacked!" JohnLockesGhost
As a member of the Tailgate Mafia, if we see another member posting in a thread we are sure to... 1) Recognize our brother 2) Reply if reasonable 3) Address them by name 4) If they are in an altercation, aid them if possible. (Sometimes rogue members will get themselves in trouble they'll have to deal with themselves.)

Man, you have guts going into the Stadium on a Monday. Win or lose it's insane. Especially after a loss. I prefer Wednesday when everyone has calmed down and looking towards the next game. If we lose our first preseason game I think the server will probably end up being crashed and the whole internets might explode. After last year, I don't think ES can handle a first preseason game loss. It's funny. I've gotten into it with so many people. One guy told everybody he will smash his 42" flat screen if our offense is Vanilla. I told him it will be, Gibbs preseason never shows his hand and he should give me the TV for the heck of it and he still wants to smash it. Preseason! Ellis
I can't wait to get a taste of the stadium on a monday. Being a noob, i've only seen the crazy through the draft. man, it's not even worth it. There's just way too many threads started on the SAME crap. Let me describe a monday for you... 1. Mega merges x 200 per topic. 2. If you open a thread on page one and then reply to someone... it shows up on page 5. 3. People yelling at each other most of the time for posting new threads, repeating other peoples comments or quoting huge blocks of text then saying, "yeah that's what I was thinking". 4. About 10% of the posts are worth reading... but you can never find them. 5. Every monday there is a thread titled something like "mods we need help here" and then there's an essay of old posters vs new posters and a thorough description of a eutopian msg board where all is calm, newbs can't start threads, people actually "search" for topics and in general, no one posts. This thread--although it's full of great ideas--becomes a fight fest over posting rules. 6. My favorite " threads" are the ones titled something like... "yesterday's game" and you open it and it basically says "yo who watched it!?!?!? that was AWESOME!" heheh... I love this site despite the things ya gotta ignore to enjoy the Stadium. No one follows the rules there. It's like the day after Thanksgiving at Walmart just before the doors open. Old ladies getting trampled... Kids crying with snot bubbles in their nose... pretty chaotic.
