authentic
The Redskins have long been high on defensive assistant Kirk Olivadotti, who has drawn overtures from the Miami Dolphins in recent years, team sources indicated, and it is very likely he will be named Lindsey's replacement. Olivadotti was promoted to defensive line-special teams coach last year, and continued to earn strong praise from Gregg Williams, assistant head coach-defense. Last year the Redskins also promoted from within when quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave departed for Atlanta, giving an opportunity to another young coach, Bill Lazor, a philosophy Gibbs espouses in these situations. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/16/AR2007011601263.html
Duckus
I really like that we continue to promote within – it is a good move towards stability and gives the younger guys in our organization a shot at showing what they got.
AKM311
Don't know much about the guy, but hopefully he will bring some youth to the coaching staff. Also, did anyone notice that lame quote by another NFL Personel man? He states that Dale wasn't the reason why our secondary stunk. No **** sherlock, but who says we fired him because of bad play? This is obvious that it was because of his flamboyant personality and how it clashes with Gibbs style. Stupid JLC!

waterwagen
I know the name, but don't know anything else about the guy. I agree that it's cool that we are promoting from within. About time we had some homegrown talent.
McMetal
Kirk would be a good hire. Funny they mention the hire from within thing - that's exactly what got Jackson all bent out of shape, when Gray was brought in.

rhyno
Dale's not the reason they gave up so many TD passes and all those long passes," said one football source with ties to the Redskins organization. "When your defense is that bad I guess somebody has to pay, and Dale is an older guy who's on his last legs, so I guess he's the scapegoat. But he's not why that secondary was horrible." Maybe it's just me but... Quite a few assistant coaches have been let go around the league the past few days, and everytime i think to yself "he's a scapegoat," but I have yet to seen it printed. Leve it to the post to take care of that. I think a number of the tother coaches fired fit into that scapegoat category more than lindsey, but c'est la vie i guess
authentic
it may have to do with his over all personality and the fact that he didn't connect with the players. There's one thing to be a disiplinarian, but its an entirely different thing to be an all out jerk. His public comments about Lavar and some side comments about Marshall were indicators of that. IMO, all they need to do with the secondary is cut ties with Jackson and just make J. Gray the secondary's coach rather than only CB's coach. I think its a joke that the guy goes from a solid def. coordinator to only coaching CB's. Furthermore, to have the CB's and safteys meeting seperately? REDSKINS STOMP
KO would be a great move by the Skins. He has been there for quite a while, I believe he is the only coach to be a holdover from the Turner era, Marty era, Spurrier era and now Gibbs as well. The guy must know what he is doing if he has survived all of that.

canethang 305
Kirk Olivadotti would be a GREAT replacement. He's the only coach who's survived every coaching regime since Snyder bought the team, there has got to be a reason why every new coach keeps him around. Stew
Wait a minute.... these look like actual positive moves in the right direction! Last year, we promoted from within (Bill Lazor) and we may do it again this year!?! WTF, The Skins cant start doing good things now, then what would some of the people on Extremeskins have to crab and complain about!?! For the record, firing D. Lindsey was a move in the right direction.
