Smurf85
Well Doug Williams is still the only african american to win a Super Bowl as the starting QB in the NFL.With that being said i know there will be another one soon, but for now.Congrats to Doug you can now open up the champaign bottle. Here's to JC being the next.
stwasm
I'd like to see Indianapolis and Chicago in the Super Bowl, just so we can have two black coaches going up against each other.
DCSkin84
Why should you celebrate that? Out of 41 Super Bowls only one? It is something wrong there man.

PCS
I'm not sure how to take this. However, I'm a big fan of the more the merrier theory. No matter what, Doug will always be the first. That said, let's hope one day that we can lose that African American part in front of the QB winning a Superbowl and just say that so and so was a great QB and won the Superbowl too. DOOG
Here's to JC being the next. Well....it will never happen now that you SAID it..... And lets hope that Doug isnt pulling a Miami party each year...Lets just get the best people out on the field there no matter who they are or what position they play or coach. Oh and god forbid they actually...OWN a team.:logo: ***edit*** I didnt read it as you were saying anything other than what you did....I think it's a shame its even an issue.:2cents:

mook_juice83
I think Doug Williams would rather drink the champaign with next black QB to do it than celebrate something such as that

Riggo-toni
I think Doug Williams would rather drink the champagne with next black QB to do it than celebrate something such as that  Exactly!! If you ever read an interview with Doug, he says he follows the careers of black QBs in the NFL and roots for their success.
pjfootballer
I really don't think race is a big factor here. The main thing is that a TEAM wins a Super bowl, not one player, no matter what color he is.
Smurf85
WOW i should have known not to post this at ES.You guys have no fun.On one hand i was making fun of Miami with the champaign. On the other i was saying congrats to a guy that won a SB with us.I know he could careless and he is the only african american QB to win one. Will he always be the only one hell no.Its harder for black QBs to win, there is only what 6 or 7 in the NFL.I mean chill out guys this thread was not made to be negative. Yet some how it always is around here. dfbovey
I'd see it as a good thing if more black QBs would win Superbowls. Doug Williams would still be the first.

SMOSS89
I think it still sets up the perfect scenario : Jason Campbell wins the Superbowl 20 years after Doug did, being just the second Black QB to win, who also happens to play for the Skins, under the same coach, wearing the same number in honor of Doug. Cinderella lives!

BuryYourDuke
I'd like to see Indianapolis and Chicago in the Super Bowl, just so we can have two black coaches going up against each other. I'd like to see the day when we aren't so preoccupied with race that this sort of discussion doesn't happen. PS Wouldn't it be racist if I said "I'd like to see Washington and San Diego play in the Superbowl so two old WHITE coaches were going up against each other."? Or maybe, "I'd like NBA basketball better if it were a bunch of white guys playing..." would that be racist? Point being the double standard is ridiculous.
