Iggle in Exile
Marc Fisher from the Wash Post reports that Snyder has been talking to DC officials about building a stadium in DC. And although no public announcement has been made, Redskins owner Dan Snyder has quietly been meeting with top city officials about building a football stadium in the District, most likely at the RFK Stadium site. Three top D.C. officials say that Snyder had meetings about his stadium project with outgoing D.C. Sports and Entertainment Commission Chairman Mark Tuohey and Williams, in the final days of his administration. Snyder's spokesman, Karl Swanson, checked yesterday with the boss and got back to me with this: "We have no comment regarding stadium discussions." Here's the link: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/10/AR2007011002496.html I did do some searches but couldn't find any indication that this has been posted before. Brandon Lloyd Christmas
they should just air lift fedex and put it down where RFK is. haha
H-O-G
Danny boy is trying to trump Jerry Jone's new stadium. I imagine if he is going to build a new stadium, he is going to make it with a retractable roof so that we would be able to have superbowl's in D.C. lavar1156
I think Danny is getting jealous that Dallas is going to have this world class stadium built. We have to keep up with the Jones'.
spicarde
Hopefully they follow the Seattle model where they brought in a guy to design a stadium that maximized fan noise. Now, if they could only figure out how to build a modern stadium that bounced like RFK.

Fred Jones
Well, RFK is near the Metro so getting there would be a little easier.
spicarde
Talk about a parking nightmare. Parking was tough when it was 55K, imagine 100K. Snyder is going to have to buy and bulldoze half of South East.
Gilgamesh
I was wondering how long it would take Danny to get jealous of Jerry's new digs...

The Nations Team
I would love for this to come true sometime within the next 10 years. The RFK site would be perfect.

authentic
I think Danny is getting jealous that Dallas is going to have this world class stadium built. We have to keep up with the Jones'. Dannyboy needs to get jealous of the teams that are currently in the playoffs and seek to model his organization after the onces that are most successful. Whats the use in building a state-of-the-art facility, if your product is mediocre year after year... Opps!!, i forgot its about making money. Snyder is going to have to buy and bulldoze half of South East. The problem being... ? :paranoid: I'd be fine with FedEx Field if it just had a nice Jumbotron or something. Then again, the 'Skins playing in Maryland has always sat as somewhat Giants-ish with me.
Jethrodsp
A great idea. FedEx was rushed up, and it doesnt compare to some of the other more modern stadiums in the NFL. One thing though...Keep it natural Dan.
MadMonkey
I posted a thread about this a few month's ago with video http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180809
EvoSkins
I heard that the land that Fedex sits on is more valuable as housing and commercial real estate than having a stadium there. Snyder can take the money from that and build a gem at the RFK site. He could finally have his Super Bowl.
LiveStrongSkins
Go for it. In my opinion they belong in DC anyways. If it means jumbotrons and a straight shot metro-ride, I'm all for it.
THEArmchairQB
I would love to see this go down, but it wouldn't be for another ten years or so. When do the 'Nats move out of RFK? How long would bond and funding take to be approved? How long does it take to build an NFL stadium? If this does go through, I would like to see Danny hire an innovative stadium designer/architect. FedEx is so cookie cutter to me. If we could have an innovative, cutting edge building like Quest Field or University of Phoenix staium that would be awesome. zoony
God Help us all if the Dan builds a dome. And if there is any other surface besides natural grass, I'm going to be pissed. I would like to see something that draws on the best designs from around the league. IMHO, Qwest field in Seattle is the closest to getting it right, although there are some other beautiful stadiums, like Paul Brown Stadium in Cincy. I want seats close to the field, and a covered grandstand so that crowd noise reflects back on to the field. And it would also be very cool to take some style elements from RFK and modernize them, for that nostalgic feel. Not sure what those would be, but I'm sure an architecht could figure it out. .... Mr. S
Dannyboy needs to get jealous of the teams that are currently in the playoffs and seek to model his organization after the onces that are most successful. Whats the use in building a state-of-the-art facility, if your product is mediocre year after year... Opps!!, i forgot its about making money. My bad  a new stadium does not affect the cap or the decisions with the team. As long as Gibbs is still here, Gibbs still calls the shots. Sure it's about making money either way. At least a new stadium IN DC will give us fans something back of those memorable RFK years. I could hope he reduces the number of seats to 80,000, but that's asking to omuch. I hope this comes true, a rocking Redskins stadium in DC.
