Huly
http://www.boston.com/business/globe/articles/2007/01/10/chargers_shut_out_pats_fans/ The San Diego Chargers are trying to solidify their home-field advantage against the New England Patriots Sunday by restricting the sale of tickets to Southern California residents only. Several Patriots fans who went looking for game tickets on Ticketmaster were stunned to learn that their money was no good. "The San Diego Chargers have restricted sales to the Divisional Playoff game to residents of Southern California and the surrounding area only," Ticketmaster warned. "Residency will be based on your credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside of southern California will be canceled without notice." Lynda Frank , a Patriots fan from Tewksbury, thought the sales restriction is unfair, if not outright illegal. If the Skins were playing them in a playoff game I would be PO if this happened! How ticked would you be if the Redskins did this for a home game...I dont think you'd mind much:) Have the skins ever done this? Would Synder do this? Do all teams do this now? Yup....I got lots of questions:)
CPortJGibbs89
I think it sucks for the fans trying to watch there team at another field, but thats great loyalty from the home fans and pretty cool if you ask me. I would be all for that if there was a home playoff game at fex ex. 90 thousand skins fans going nuts would be a beautiful thing.

I honestly can not think of a time that the skins have done this and I can not see Snyder doing this as he wants all the seats to sell. This is the first time I have heard of it. The only thing close that I can think of would be the Bucs season ticket holders getting that Password to order tickets last year when they played us. Of course someone found the password and posted it here where everyone could order tickets!
NoCalMike
Yeah but what if you are a chargers fan willing to make a long drive or plane flight out to San Diego? You are screwed...

Heidenreich
Yeah but what if you are a chargers fan willing to make a long drive or plane flight out to San Diego? You are screwed... I thought the same thing. What is the skins did this, and I couldn't buy a ticket because I live in NJ? If I lived in Southern Cal, I would buy up as many tickets as I can. You know how much money one could make reselling those seats to Patriot fans that can't buy them?

CGSKINS
Honestly I dont see anything wrong. I know its messed up that you cant see your team on the road and I do feel sorry for the charger fans who dont live in the area. But I wish the skins would do this. I'm tired of going to the game and seeing a bunch fans of the opposing teams. I have been to other NFL stadiums and you dont see many fans of the other team like you do at the skins game. I was at the Eagles game at fedex and that was down right pathetic. I could not believe what I was seeing. Ther was way way to many Eagles fans there. stwasm
Doesn't it say something about the organization's confidence if it has to resort to this tactic? ESPN's Bill Simmons commented on the Chargers doing this, calling it a "loser's mentality."
Huly
I was under the impression that you had to give the opposing team so many tickets. Is that just for Regular season games? Otherwise if that is not the case why not let those tickets be more Redskin Season ticket holders?
skinfan2k
honestly u should check it out on craigslist.. if u have a pair in the upperlevel in the first few rows, craigslist has those tickets for $250-300 a pair.. alot of redskins season tickets holders are just to make money on the tickets
Stuckinphilly1
I live up in Philly and would ABSOLUTELY drive down for the p/o's. I'll drive down to DC for the Super Bowl just to be THERE!!! That being said, I don't think it's against the law to restrict sale of your product to a certain region....but I don't think there's precidence for it so I wonder if our Congress will be spending weeks talking about changing that....(so lets not let get too upset about it!!!! I know you can't change a price of something for someone paying cash vs credit so??? And just as it's been mentioned, they'll be on ebay and at ticket agencies so Pats/Seahawks fans will be able to get them.

Right, they give tickets to the players and opposing coaches and owners so they can have family and friends attend. Those tickets aren't for the fans. I'm pretty sure they give the tickets to the opposing teams for any game, regular or post season. It's funny to me that people don't think its fair. If my team has earned homefield advantage I want to do everything I can to take full advantage of playing at home. It's a playoff game so the tickets will sell out anyway in any decent sized market. TheFan Yes, but when I still lived in Maryland I made an attempt to go to every Eagles playoff game I could. Technically, I lived in a "Washington Redskins Market." I would have been pretty upset if I wasn't able to buy tickets (at face value) for a team I've supported my entire life simply because of where I live. There are always fans like you that would be adversely impacted. I've got the same problem if Dallas did it. TheFan

Mark The Homer
The tickets are the Charger's tickets to sell. In a similar situation here, there wouldn't BE any tickets on TicketMaster. Besides, there's plenty of other places to get tix. Check this out: http://www.stubhub.com/san-diego-chargers-playoff-tickets/?event_id=351568 http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=chargers+tickets Considering that the game is in 96 hours, there sure is a **** load of tickets people are trying to unload...
