I dunno about the rest of you guys but the only thing holding me over right now is watching the playoffs. I'm going to go through some real withdrawl when from the redskins once the season is officially over. Then It will get a little eaiser once fee agency starts because thats always exciting and then we got the draft.... But then its another 4-5 months before the season...the offseason SUCKS!! how do you guys deal with it???

Yeah, its pretty funny i got home from work tonight and sitting on my kitchen table was a package from my dad back in VA. I opened it up all there were just tons of really nice Skins t-shirts, towels, hat, and a really old school jacket. And it was kind of like damn its really over. Still looking forward to what we can do this offseason. Really a make it or break it kind of year.

Once the Skins are out of it, I go into full-fledged Wizards mode, which then gets split with my new love of NASCAR (and the accompanying trip to Daytona). Springtime rolls around and the Skins are knee-deep in free agents, so that keeps you salivating, and for at least a month the Orioles aren't mathematically eliminated from the playoffs so I hold out a little hope there. When it gets into the summer I become obsessed with Skins training camp and watching the O's for any sign of hope. Next thing I know BOOM, the preseason is here.

This year I'm thinking of pulling an Eric Cartman. I figure I can freeze myself until early August. Once I'm unfrozen,I can catch up on the free agent and draft acquistions. It should be time for the first game of the season by the time I finish catching up.

Let me know how that works out for you so i can try it next year. But i do go through some bad withdrawls during the offseason. Living in NC there isnt anyother sport i get into. I dont care for the Bobcats or basketball in general. So i usually spend the offseason playing music or something to keep my mind off of the skins.

you need a baseball team man...there is really only a small break which is after the Super Bowl but you can also watch spring training games in February and March. Baseball is the best at keeping you occupied through the spring and summer until football starts again, mainly because they have the longest regular season and they play virtually EVERY SINGLE DAY. I live in Richmond where we have the Atlanta Braves AAA minor league team so I grew up a Braves fan and last year I purchased MLB.tv which I could watch my team play EVERY day from April-September.

Last year, I managed to pick up the AFL right after the Pro Bowl and after that NFL Europe took me well into June. That left only July without anything passing for football. Unfortunately the AFL changed up its TV contracts so now I have to wait until March. I think NFL Europe is starting earlier this year too so I might have to suffer through three months.

At least I've got Madden with my six time Super Bowl Champion, consistent 13-15 win, Redskins team. (One for Gibbs in '06 using Brunell, two for Williams with Campbell, playoff slump in between) It's so great keeping our rivals out of the playoffs and sweeping them almost every year.

The really funny thing is that when Springs retired on me, I immediately started giving up 300 passing yards a game despite three pro bowl corners. According to Madden, a healthy Springs is the keystone of our defense.

I go in to full Washington Capitals mode. If you guys havent watched Alexander Ovechkin you are missing out on the best athlete in DC. Go see a Caps game, or maybe even a wizards game.

Scott

Do you mean watch a bunch of kids with one of the lowest payrolls in the league overachieve and give their complete effort every game? Why would anyone want to do that? And it's too bad most people don't know who Ovechkin is, or would even notice if he were in line behind them at a grocery store. I would recommend to anyone to check out youtube.com for some of his highlight footage.

Sad...but towards the end of the football season I found myself following the Caps more than the Skins. I never thought that would happen...

Living in South Carolina, I don't see the Caps unless they play Atlanta or are on the VS channel. DirectTV is giving a free Center Ice preview this week and I watched them last night against Philly. I like Semin too. where the hell did that guy come from (I know Russia)?

My wife and I are going to Raleigh on 01/26 to see the Caps play the Hurricanes for my Birthday. about a 3 hour drive, but we'll stay the night.

I'll be sporting my Bondra #12 Black jersey and my wife will wear the Bondra road White.
