blitzpackage
he's under contract till the 2010 season? Correct, he timed the ending of his contract to coincide with his ability to collect Social Security.
Lil Kenzo
I hate to sound like a jerk, but this might actually help the FO to get Brunell to restructure his contract.
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
seriously, the fact hes signed through '10 is paiiiiiiinful to the max. wont he be 40 years old at that point??? who gives an old guy a contract that ridiculously long? oh yeah, us! drowland
I hate to sound like a jerk, but this might actually help the FO to get Brunell to restructure his contract. Restructure or take a pay cut? Restructure all they do is pay out his 2007 salary as a bonus and push the cap number back. Which at this point with him is stupid. I'll sound like a jerk. They probably need to cut the cord.
carter23
I'm pretty sure Brunell restructured already (I would have linked to the thread, but search isn't working)
Gallntfox
I'm pretty sure Brunell restructured already (I would have linked to the thread, but search isn't working) Brunell has not restructured his contract for next season and beyond. He only restructured his remaining '06 deal to facilitate the Betts deal. (which didn't cost him any money out of pocket)
blitzpackage
I'll sound like a jerk. They probably need to cut the cord. "We haven't quite heard the end of the Mark Brunell story" -Joe Gibbs circa November 2006 This quote scares the :pooh: out of me.

SkinsOrlando
Brunell takes a pay cut this year to stay with the team or he gets cut, that's my prediction
SBboundbaby
he is washed up and has to go. still laughing at the labia comment! goshdarnwussy! sbb
s0crates
If Campbell goes down do to an injury, I'd much rather have Brunell replace him than Collins.
EvoSkins
If Brunell retires because of injury was is the cap hit if any? Is this different than if he is cut?
laxpck
MB tore his labia while squatting to pee? Huh? I want to keep him as our backup (paid as our backup at a backup salary) til 2010
SBboundbaby
dump both! neither should be welcome back. the skins need to get rid of the loyalty to washed up players. the only reason collins was here, was because AS came here. and he supposedly knew the system. could have fooled me! LOL sbb
radagast5
seriously, the fact hes signed through '10 is paiiiiiiinful to the max. wont he be 40 years old at that point??? who gives an old guy a contract that ridiculously long? oh yeah, us! The length of contracts for older players is just a standard maneuver to allow the us to spread the cap hit out over a longer period of time. You might sign a guy like Brunell thinking he'd only play three years, but give him a six year contract so you can spread the cap hit over six years instead of three. Geoff_K
Correct, he timed the ending of his contract to coincide with his ability to collect Social Security. ROFL sad but ALMOST so true
NavyDave
Brunell is Gibbs version of Danny Weurful. It'll take a fan doing a Tonya Harding husband /Nancy Kerrigan reenactment on Brunell to keep gibbs from finding a way to play him in
