portis&taylor
Free Agents: LB Cato June sign with Bears RB Micheal Turner signs with Browns. OT Leonard Davis signs with the Houston Texans. OG Eric Steinback signs with Kansas City. OG Derrick Dockery resigns with Washington. DE Justin Smith signs with St. Louis. DE Charles Grant resigns with New Orleans. DE Jared Allen resigns with Kansas City. DE Dwight Freeney resigns with Indy. LB/DE Adalus Thomas signs with Dallas. LB Lance Briggs signs with Washington. CB Nate Clements signs with the Washington. CB Asante Sameuls sign with NY Giants. S Ken Hamlin signs with Washington. DE Justin Smith signs with Washington, instead of breaking the bank on freeney the skins do the smart thing (for once) and sign this balanced DE a very good run stopper that will complement carters pass rushing ability. WR Brandon Lloyd is traded to Kansas City for 4th round pick. 1 Oakland Raiders QB Jamarcus Russell LSU, Raiders draft the best QB availible pretty simple. 2 Detroit Lions QB Brady Quinn ND, Lions get Franchise QB to complete prolific offense 3 Cleveland Browns OT Joe Thomas WIS, You need a good line for a runningback to be good 4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Calvin Johnson GT, Do I really need to explain? This guy is an athletic FREAK! 5 Arizona Cardinals DT Alan Branch Mich, Cardinals interior DL is terrible with the drafting of Branch they hope they have the problem fixed. 6 Washington Redskins WR Dwayne Jarrett USC, Gibbs finally drafts a WR to become the #2 wideout. After having another huge offseason the redskins fill holes on the defensive side of the ball picking up (moved to MLB) Lance Briggs, DE Justin Smith, CB Clements, and SS Ken Hamlin. 7 Minnesota Vikings WR Ted Ginn Jr ohio state, The vikings are desperate for a good WR and after falling short on both Johnson and Jarrett they settle for Ginn 8 Houston Texans RB Adrian Peterson OK, Houtson gets there explosive back of the future. 9 Miami Dolphins DE Gaines Adams Clemson, No one thought he would drop to 9 as the Dolfins rejoice as the pick up there replacement for the probably retireing Jason Taylor. 10 Atlanta Falcons S Reggie Nelson Florida, The falcons saftey's are terrible and they need a a cover safety like Nelson that is why he goes over Landry. 11 San Francisco 49'ers S Laron Landry LSU, Frisco has never had a real good safety but the get what the want in Landry. 12 Buffalo Bills CB Leon Hall Mich, Many expect Hall to go higher than this but I can see him falling down to the Bills at #12. Hall has great moves and playmaking ability that will immediately help a Buffalo defense that struggles against the pass. They also get there replacement for clements. 13 St. Louis Rams LB Patrick Willis Ole, The rams go after the best D player on the board and score P-willie to complete the linebacking corps. 14 Carolina Panthers QB Troy Smith Ohio state, Jake Delhomme isnt that good and is getting up there in age, with not alot of needs the Panthers jump on this guy hopeing that he can become a Drew Brees that can run. 15 Pittsburgh Steelers OLB/DE Quinton Moses Geo, A true tweener the steelers draft quinton moe to become a stud lineback in there 3-4. 16 Green Bay Packers RB Marshawn Lynch Cal, After the amazing game he had in Cals bowl game he should go in the top ten but with many of the top teams without need of a stud runningback Lynch slips to 16. 17 Jacksonville Jaguars LB Paul Posluszny Penn, The Jaguars coach, Jack Del Rio was a tough linebacker for the Cowboys during the 80's. He will select a guy made in the same mold as himself in Paul Posluszny out of Penn State. 18 Cincinnati Bengals DT Glenn Dorsey LSU, With a top notch offense in place, Cincin will continue to bring in defensive talent when they select big Glenn Dorsey out of LSU. 19 Tennessee Titans OG/OT Justin Blalock Tex, The last piece to this Titan offense is a great o-line. Starting with Blalock the titans begin to build. 20 New York Giants RB Kenny Irons AUB, Irons is a typical hard running Auburn back that will fit well in the Giant offense. Manning will need all of the pressure taken off of him that he can get...thus the Giants will take Irons with the 20th pick. 21 Denver Broncos CB Darrelle Revis Pitt, With the tragic loss of Darrent Williams the Broncos suddenly have a hole at CB. Darrelle Revis will be that replacement, no one can replace D-will on the field and off but Revis will have to try. 22 Dallas Cowboys OT Levi Brown Penn, The cowgirls will go with Brown but maybe they should trade there pick to Skippy Peanut butter company for a couple large jars of Peanut butter and smear it on Romo sits to pee's hands. 23 Kansas City Chiefs DT Quinn Pit**** Ohio state, KC needs a DT plain and simple. 24 New England Patriots(f/SEA) S Michael Griffin Tex, Harrison was injured this season and is 34 years old; it’s time to find his replacement. 25 New Orleans Saints CB Marcus McCauley Fres State, Can someone even tell me who the saints corners are? Plus the saints dont have any holes except maybe LB but with both of the top LB's gone and McCauley being a beter overall pick than Buster Davis the Saints settle for McCauley. 26 New York Jets DT Amobi Okoye Lou, It will be interesting to see where Okoye's draft status goes from here. He was fairly dominant at Louisville and many draft scouts put a lot of stock in the fact that he is young and has room to improve. With the Jets offense drastically improving in 2006 expect them to take a gamble on Okoye. If he continues to improve he could be the steal of this years draft. Analysis from NFLDaily.com 27 Philadelphia Eagles ILB Buster Davis Florida state, I hate to see a player like Buster go to the fecals but he is the best pick for the eagles at this spot. 28 New England Patriots WR JEFF SAMARDZIJA ND, Pats need a WR they get Jeff aka the Shark. 29 Indianapolis Colts OLB Lawrence Timmons Florida State, The replacement for the departing Cato June, Timmons is a vary raw talent but could be a absolute steal this late in the draft if he pans out. 30 Baltimore Ravens OLB/DE Lemar Woodley Mich, Someone has to replace Adalus Thomas. 31 Chicago Bears TE Zach Miller zona state, Bears need a great pass catching TE and Miller is the man. 32 San Diego Chargers WR Sidney Rice South Car, With McCardell close to retirement the Chargers are desperate for a good reciever. Redskins Starting Line up for 2007 season Offense QB: Jason Campbell RB: Clinton Portis FB: Mike Sellers WR: Tanaman, Dwayne Jarrett, Antwaan TE: Chris Cooley LOT: Chris Samuels LOG: Derrick Dockery C: Chris Rabach ROG: Randy Thomas ROT: Jon Jansen Defense LDE: Andre Carter LDT: Kedric Golston RDT: Griff RDE: Justin Smith LOLB: Marcus Washington MLB: Lance Briggs ROLB: Rocky Mac/Lemar Marshall LCB: Carlos Rogers FS: Sean Taylor SS: Ken Hamlin/Shawn Springs RCB: Nate Clements

DWinzit
Wow, the Redskins must have bought some cap space from other teams!
shawnofthedead
The Redskins will need to clear serious cap space to sign any of those guys. Over 20 teams in the league will have 10 million plus in cap room due to the raise in the limit this year. The Redskins are one of a handful with virtually no room (around 900k I think) and thats before draft picks. Someone is going to have to go first..... They would be better off trading for some of those draft picks back. The crazy free agent spending is what got them in a bind in the first place. It hasnt produced successful results. thespaniard
DE Charles Grant resigns with New Orleans. I'm not sure he re-signs with the Saints. They haven't been able to agree to an extension over the course of the season. Grant will want top 5 DE money, and quite frankly he is good but not top 5. I see some other team giving him the money he wants. Mike McKenzie and Fred Thomas. Thomas is aging but is still average, while McKenzie plays very well. The Saints' CB play is average, but lacks depth and is aging. I agree that they will probably go CB, LB or DT here.
HeHateMe
ya its all just fun tho And extremely unrealistic. This is more like the dream offseason in terms of free agent signings in Washington. Heck, why leave out Thomas and Freeny?
TaylorPickSix
I hope you know we have like a mil in cap room right now...granted if we get some restructures we get down to 15 under pretty quickly, but we don't have the money for all FOUR of those. Hercules Rockefeller
You have Justin Smith going to both StL and Washington, and you're smoking crack if you think he'll get a reasonable deal that the Skins can afford with those other signings. Too many teams with too much cap room this offseason and too few DL on the market. and Denver will not take a corner in the 1st. Corner was probably their deepest unit. Foxworth will be the starter next season and Paymah will move to the nickel. Maybe a mid-round pick, but they have much bigger needs that need to be addressed in the 1st. Pocono
So they re-sign Dockery and sign Clements Briggs Smith and Hamlin and trade Lloyd which would mean about 9M in dead money all counting in 07. There is so much cap space around this year league wide even bad players will get great deals and you have the Skins signing the top 2 players available and two other good ones in Smith and Hamlin. Perhaps you should prepare for a little disappointment.
Arsenic
This should be a quite offseason for the Skins' - Kind of like 2 years ago. They might add 1 or two players on defense, one of them definitely being a cornerback.
pointyfootball
6 Washington Redskins WR Dwayne Jarrett USC, Gibbs finally drafts a WR to become the #2 wideout. After having another huge offseason the redskins fill holes on the defensive side of the ball picking up (moved to MLB) Lance Briggs, DE Justin Smith, CB Clements, and SS Ken Hamlin. Poor draft choice, poor signings (based on $$) would lead to a high profile team with no backup depth and still no guarantee of performing. Ellis
I don't see us picking up that many people in the draft. Gibbs likes seasoned and proven talent. Rarely does he go overboard in the draft.
