KDawg
Yes, this post should probably go in ATN, however, due to plenty of debates on Santana Moss' greatness I decided to compile stats and see what I came up with. I took 37 of the NFL's top receivers and averaged out their stat lines. Obviously, this is JUST based on stats and some players stats are impacted by injury, but the results are interesting none the less. I was bored on top of curious, so here is the product of my research: Anquan Boldin, ARI: 14.0 GP,13.75 GS, 85.5 Rec, 1151.25 YPS, 5 TD Deion Branch, SEA: 13.4 GP, 11.0 GS, 53.2 Rec, 693.8 YPS, 3.6 TD Reggie Brown, PHI: 16.0 GP, 13.0 GS, 44.5 Rec, 693.5 YPS, 6 TD Isaac Bruce, STL: 14.07 GP, 12.92 GS, 68.23 Rec, 1028.92 YPS, 6.15 TD Plaxico Burress, NYG: 14.57 GP, 13.85 GS, 57.14 Rec, 909.42 YPS, 5.57 TD Chris Chambers, MIA: 15.66 GP, 14.16 GS, 62.33 Rec, 878.83 YPS, 7.16 TD Laveraneus Coles, NYJ: 15.57 GP, 14.14 GS, 72.28 Rec, 942.71 YPS, 4.42 TD Donald Driver, GB: 14.25 GP, 9.75 GS, 52.62 Rec, 741.21 YPS, 4.5 TD Braylon Edwards, CLE: 13.0 GP, 11.0 GS, 46.5 Rec, 698.0 YPS, 4.5 TD Lee Evans, BUF: 16.0 GP, 13.66 GS, 59.33 Rec, 959.33 YPS, 8.0 TD Larry Fitzgerald, ARI: 15.0 GP, 15.0 GS, 76.66 Rec, 1045.0 YPS, 8.0 TD Joey Galloway, TB: 13.41 GP, 12.58 GS, 51.0 Rec, 796.5 YPS, 5.91 TD David Givens, TEN: 11.6 GP, 6.4 GS, 33.2 Rec, 463.6 YPS, 2.4 TD Terry Glenn, DAL: 12.36 GP, 11.54 GS, 53.9 Rec, 802.09 YPS, 4 TD Marvin Harrison, IND: 15.45 GP, 15.27 GS, 92.9 Rec, 1245.18 YPS, 11.09 TD Torry Holt, STL: 15.75 GP, 14.5 GS, 89.0 Rec, 1334.37 YPS, 8.0 TD Joe Horn, NO: 13.72 GP, 9.27 GS, 52.36 Rec, 772.81 YPS, 5.18 TD TJ Houshmandzadeh, CIN: 12.33 GP, 7.3 GS, 50.5 Rec, 622.5 YPS, 3.5 TD Darrell Jackson, SEA: 13.71 GP, 12.71 GS, 63.0 Rec, 920.71 YPS, 6.71 TD Andre Johnson, HOU: 15.25 GP, 15.25 GS, 77.75 Rec, 988.25 YPS, 4.25 TD Chad Johnson, CIN: 15.33 GP, 13.16 GS, 77.66 Rec, 1154.16 YPS, 6.83 TD Keyshawn Johnson, CAR: 15.18 GP, 14.72 GS, 74.0 Rec, 961.0 YPS, 5.81 TD Ashley Lelie, ATL: 15.8 GP, 10.0 GS, 39.2 Rec, 687.4 YPS, 2.6 TD Derrick Mason, BAL: 15.4 GP, 10.4 GS, 60.7 Rec, 793.7 YPS, 4.2 TD Keenan McCardell, SD: 13.26 GP, 11.13 GS, 57.4 Rec, 741.13 YPS, 4.13 TD Randy Moss, OAK: 15.33 GP, 14.66 GS, 75.11 Rec, 1188.88 YPS, 11.22 TD Santana Moss, WAS: 13.5 GP, 9.8 GS, 48.33 Rec, 781.5 YPS, 5.66 TD Eric Moulds, HOU: 15.45 GP, 13.45 GS, 66.54 Rec, 877.54 YPS, 4.45 TD Muhsin Muhammed, CHI: 14.18 GP, 13.09 GS, 63.81 Rec, 851.27 YPS, 4.81 TD Terrell Owens, DAL: 14.36 GP, 13.0 GS, 72.81 Rec, 1065.0 YPS, 10.36 TD Rod Smith, DEN: 15.25 GP, 13.16 GS, 70.75 Rec, 949.08 YPS, 5.6 TD Steve Smith, CAR: 12.83 GP, 9.33 GS, 57.33 Rec, 820.83 YPS, 5.0 TD Donte Stallworth, PHI: 13.6 GP, 8.8 GS, 46.6 Rec, 703.2 YPS, 5.6 TD Javon Walker, DEN: 12.8 GP, 6.8 GS, 45.2 Rec, 705.6 YPS, 6.0 TD Hines Ward, PIT: 15.66 GP, 13.55 GS, 72.0 Rec, 889.44 YPS, 6.44 TD Reggie Wayne, IND: 15.5 GP, 13.33 GS, 65.0 Rec, 912.33 YPS, 6.16 TD Roy Williams, DET: 14.33 GP, 13.0 GS, 60.33 Rec, 938.0 YPS, 7.66 TD Leaders: Games Played Per Season 1. McNabbOwnsFedEx
What's the point? Are your rankings(your top 37 list) for right now or careers? I hope it's not for right now because you have some old guys who don't belong. If it is for right now then that's really unfair to any of the guys with 5 or less years experience. KDawg
There really is none other than comparing seasonal averages to one another. That balances out the young and the old in my opinion. The overall rankings, like I said, are based on their single stat line, not combined stats.
Chachie
He will climb further up that ladder as a Redskin. I love me some Santana Moss.
