There is some truth to players excellling in certain systems only. The Redskins back in Gibbs one was like that.

Heck Wide Receiver J Gaffney who was on the street earlier looked good yesterday due to the way Brady spreads the ball around.

Prileau will be back but the idea of Springs moved to safety if we have a capable corner to replace him is intriguing.

I prefer a young pocket collapsing run stuffing DT to pair with Griffin be used with our pick but I see us trading down.

How about the scouting dept doing some homework.

At this time I'd rather the Skins shore up their run defense 1st. If the SKins stay with their current pick and he's there I'd take Alan Branch,I'm tired of signing high priced free agents and they not pan out. :2cents:

Personally, I think it's stupid to even consider signing anyone who's ever played for the 'Pats. I certainly won't be rooting for him if he's here next year... except for an injury to him. There is nobody and almost nothing from that organization that I want to see in DC.

I admire the way you have stuck to your guns on how you think that all of the successful players from NE are a product of a successful system there. I think that you go over the top a little bit on how you present some of your remarks and I don't happen to agree with you but never the less, you haven't been wishy washy and that is refreshing.

But, then came your above highlighed remark and everything just went right through the window. Now you just come across as some kind of angry cat that has some kind of personal hatred for the Patriots and all of their players.

Because of your quote above I have concluded that you definately are not a Redskins fan and that NE's organization did something to you personally.

We need D-LINE and LINEBACKER help first.

Greg Williams mentioned when he first got here he always builds his defense from the outside in. D line has solid starters across the board with young talent mixed in. Linebacker has 2 solid starters and a high pick in Rocky who should contribute next year we also might get Clemmons back but we could find a utility guy maybe Posey is him our biggest weakness is in the secondary though. Greg Williams defense is at its best when its more in 46 mode than cover 2 which relys on the D line more. We need to sure up the secondary.

Bring in Smoot and get a good nickle back somewhere maybe a year in Wright will be a better option as a nickle/Dime corner with Eubanks.

D line~ Daniels,Griffin,Salvea/Golston, Carter/Evans with Montgomery and a first rounder as depth sounds solid

DB's~ Springs,Smoot,Rogers Taylor,Vincent,Fox,Prielou with Wright/Eubanks/5rd pick battling out the reserves and oh yeah Archulleta might have to take up a roster spot

LB's~ Washington,Rocky,Marshall,Clemmons,Posey and another blue collar draft pick or FA

We are not nearly as bad off as people think.

I have my doubts;)

Gregg does use his DB's more than most but I am not comfortable at all in the slightest with our current D line or LB situtation. Conventional widsom would suggest that you build from the inside out. That seems to be the right choice and why Gregg deviates from this is beyond my understanding.

thats not very good either. daniels/salavea both suck and are old/injury liabilities. good riddance.

smoot wont be here, end of story. vincent is too old, only for depth. fox is a solid backup, i like him. wright needs to say bye bye.

marshall is too small to play linebacker and be effective, posey is old and washed up, and is clemmons even on the team?

so far you havent made me feel any better.

I agree! We need young talented players, but also need a couple of key starters for next year. DB is the second most important position on this team behind QB. We need 4 solid DBs to free up the front 7 for blitzing/run stopping. Right now we only have 2-3 of those spots filled. Springs is our best cover DB, but he's hurt way too much. I think moving him to free safety will help, but we need a #1 CB deperately even if Springs stays at CB.
