I would expect his asking price to be higher than I'd be willing to pay. On the the topic of FA CB's. Could somebody with either a list or link post the top FA CB's and DL's? Can I be ANY clearer on the fact that Asante Samuel should NOT even be looked at by the Washington Redskins in Free Agency under ANY circumstances?!?!?!!? We already have TWO sacks of **** from that franchise stealing money from this team and not providing anything of value in David Patten and Christian Fauria. I'd love to see him out there with us though. Because somebody is going to offer him the money that the tight-fisted Patriots will NEVER pay a player whose name isn't Brady or Seymour. Hell, that team let one of the best kickers in NFL history leave last year over salary issues; and Samuel isn't one of the best corners in NFL history. Players who have played in the cesspools that is New England should be off-limits. It isn't the age of the other two sacks of **** that is the problem with them. It's the fact that New England takes players who really have minimal talent and turns them into above average players with their SYSTEM. IT'S THE SYSTEM, STUPID!!!!!! Once the players leave New England, they go straight into the ****ter. We've got two of them on the roster already!!!! How many more do we need before we learn the lesson!?!?!?!? Duckus Posted January 7, 2007 Share Posted January 7, 2007 I actually like Samuels and think that he is a good player. BUT this is a classic Redskins signing and has red flags all over it for me. He is having an enormous year in his CONTRACT YEAR! This is very common. Players who know they are going to be a FA have the best season because they know they can cash in for the biggest, most important pay day of their lives based on their performances. What we have done for the past 10 years is find players who are AMAZING in their contract years and then pay them the big bucks. Who do I want the Redskins to sign? I have NO IDEA who and that is a good thing. Why? Because I want him to be under the radar, a player I am not too familiar with and who will work hard so he will have the big pay day down the road. Until the Redskins understand this we will be constant losers in the NFL. In the NFL you have to be ahead of the curve to win and that is why teams with the best scouts and talent evaluators win super bowls. The Redskins are 100% reactionary in our signings. I hope we can get one of the two, but I would be very pleased if we landed this guy. He can flat out cover his man.
