Parcells as GM

Joe Gibbs and Bill Parcells have rarely spoken when either is a coach, they finally spoke to each other after they both were out of coaching. When Joe came back Bill Parcells faxed Joe a note sayiing "I guess this means we will not be speaking again". Joe Gibbs never answered the note. I seriously doubt that Joe would want him as a GM.

I have always noticed that the Gibbs-Parcells relationship is not a good one. Whenever the two meet on the field after a game, JG in particular, gives me the impression that he wants nothing to do with BP. It's almost like it's painful for JG to acknowledge BP in any way.

Hail Skins................Eileen

lol, never gonna happen.

That's what they said about the Schottenheimer hire. After the way, Marty blasted Dan on air and said he would never ever work for a guy like that.

That's what they said about the Spurrier hire. They said Steve ain't never going to leave Florida. He's got it too good there.

I also remember a peculiar quote from Bill when Gibbs took the 'skins gig. He said something to the effect of... oh well, I guess that means we won't talk again for five years. And said that they had developed an off-field friendship. Personally, I don't think it will happen either, but Parcells would have the ego to stand toe to toe with Snyder and Gibbs and we need a "no" man.

Parcells is done...period.

He was the kind of coach that only felt loyalty towards $$$$. He left most jobs undone. Ask the Jets,Patriots, and of course Jerry Jones.

He is not the same kind of character guy as JG. He may be a good coach but I for one am glad to see him go. ESPN needs him...maybe they will get rid of Mike the moron Irvin now.

On a much Happier note....Who are the Girls gonna get now? There are few viable head coach canidates left...Even if they do get somebody, There will be new systems to learn...TO unchecked...No one to keep Romo sits to pee from trying to throw from his back...Makes a redskin fan feel all warm and fuzzy inside :-)

Bill has no business being a Redskin.....if he goes anywhere in the NFC East it should be the Giants.

Amen...He won't though...He was only in it for Cash.

Would Joe Gibbs ever coach for the giants? Cowboys? Eagles?...After all those years as a giant he felt no loyalty.

Parcells would sell his momma if paid enough...he might even allow Terrel Owens on his team...:D oh yeah...he did that already.

I really hope he ends up back a espn...he was pretty decent as an analyst.

Cya Bill...:applause:

Too much Rivalry History between Gibbs and Parcells. You could even argue that Gibbs did MORE with less talent...

Parcells had L.T. to anchor his defense all those years in NY...yeah, we had Mann and Manley and Darrell Green...but the Giants had a more forocious defense for alot longer than we did.

Parcells also had Phill Simms (Yeah, I know that he won a Super Bowl with Simms back up, but that was due to Norwood's missed kick. He also had Bledsoe during his prime in New England.

I just can't see Gibbs taking orders from Parcells. Boith coaches are great and are worthy of the OWN place on any team...but not on each other's team.

What has he done well for the Cowboys from a personnel standpoint? He brought in failures such as Testeverde and Bledsoe (Sean Payton was the one who brought in Romo sits to pee), missed Tatupu and Merriman by a combined three picks (other LB/DEs taken instead), and passed on Steven Jackson (trade down--turned into JJ and Marcus Spears).

He did a considerably poor job bringing in talent.
