Guest Gichin13
I saw in another thread folks indicating Byner was the only coach not resigned, that he was an acknowledge snitch and the source of some of the quotes ... is there any linkable source on this, or was this just speculation? I searched the board, but did not find this easily, sorry if this was posted and I missed it. Final note, I think Byner is a great potential asset coaching on this team. He also seemed to have a good handle on our available talent, a good idea that trading picks for TJ was a waste, a great help to Betts, and likely a good advocate for downhill running as opposed to the weaker style of running we exhibit the first half that does not suit this team. Thanks in advance,

Sanders 83
I was wondering the same thing... I saw people start talking about it after the Portis interview on 980, but never actually saw quotes or even speculation from an article.

Taylor 36
If he was the snitch, as I have seen posted numerous times, good riddance. That the point of this thread. It has been "posted" that he was the snitch, yet not one ounce of evidence to suggest this has been given anywhere. It is kinda hard to believe he would be the or a snitch considering that the snitch pretty much handed over inside info on the defense, and Byner is an offensive coach. After all, the snitch said that the defensive coaches had no idea what any of the others were doing, how would an offensive coach know???

I forget his nickname but he's on the Portis 980 thread. One guy. And he kept repeating this for some reason...over and over. :whoknows:

bubba9497
Gibbs said he expects all coaches back, and Byner is popular with his players, and close to Gibbs... his track record the past 2 season with top 10 total Rushing stat, Portis Redskin record season, Betts 1100 yard season in only 8 starts is impressive. The running backs coach = dead meat. Do not need snitches on the team. He should go do shows with Doc Walker and Brian Mitchell since he likes to snitch to them. How many times did Benidict Walker ( Doc) say Byner has a muzzle on him. He ratted out Portis. And ratted out Gibbs because Gibbs loves Portis. Second, the quality of your posts' content leaves a lot to be desired. Third, you were probably just starting to learn about football when Byner was bleeding and winning games (including a SB title) for this team. paul55
How in the world did Byners name come up as the snitch? This is crazy. No everyone in the Redskins org. is singing the barney song. There are simply to many people for everyone to get along. The Redskins (because of our loosing season) have been disceted, bisected, chopped and beat up every way the media can think of. Rumors and speculation are rampant. We will find out who mouthed off to the media soon. The only way to win is to think positive.
Larry Brown #43
Maybe we should stop worrying about who our "snitches" are and start worrying about fixing this train wreck? You don't see the Ravens or Chargers worrying about "snitches," do you?

Leonard Washington
What on earth did he (allegedly) snitch about? The Friend article or something else? supposidly... it really don't matter. losing teams always have these kind of "issues".
JoeGibbsThickandthin
What on earth did he (allegedly) snitch about? The Friend article or something else? Not the Tom Friend article. About a muzzle being on him. And how the coaches were soft and Portis was a team cancer. Apprently Portis missed all the OTAs ad some required things all summer and came in out of shape. Byner also recently said Portis lost his starting job. I think his contract is up. Arch was the Friend article snitch.
SlinginSammy HOF '63
what is this whole "the snitch" thing? Re: Byner status and info OK nevermind. So if Portis shows up out of shape that somehow maks Byner a snitch?
JoeGibbsThickandthin
what is this whole "the snitch" thing?OK nevermind. So if Portis shows up out of shape that somehow maks Byner a snitch? Portis missing meetings. A muzzle being on him when he tried to point him out. And how he was not taking rehab seriously.
NicholSkin
I certainly don't think Byner caused any of this year's losses. He needs to help Betts learn to prevent fumbles, but... I hope he comes back.
SlinginSammy HOF '63
I just don't understand it that Portis misses OTAs, shows up out of shape and somehow Byner is the bad guy. Am I missing something here? Why are we covering for our guys? Maybe that's why our guys got hurt this year. Not training and then when they tried to play real NFL action their inactivity came back to bite them. Maybe the reason why we are 5-11 is because our guys come in out of shape and instead of dealing with it we try to cover it. I don't care what anyone says. You can't dick around for 8 months, train for a month and be ready for kickoff in September. Training is a 12 months a year thing now.

But the guys like Portis, Moss and Daniels want to even train less. They want to train on their own now.
